Emily was picked up as a stray. She had puppies that someone took or kept and just left her behind. Emily is just adorable with her short little legs. She is super sweet and friendly, good with people and other dogs. Emily is a happy girl who adores belly rubs and will flop over quickly so you won't be able to give her a good rub. We do not know what she thinks of cats. Emily is about 2 years old and 33 pounds. Please help Emily find the loving home she deserves. Update: Emily had tested positive for Ehrlicchia, another tick borne disease very similar to Lym's. She has completed her course of antibiotic treatment and has done well. We do NOT ship our animals. All adoptive families must travel to us to meet their adoptive dog/cat. Applicants must live within a 2 hour radius from Sparta/Andover (07871/07821). Please understand that we are an animal shelter and thus unable to say whether the dogs are housebroken as they are not in homes. Our dogs are fostered and physically located in NC until adopted. Once adopted we can transport to your location or any of our other delivery location. This pup was born to a basset hound lab mix mom. She was born 7-1-22. This pup is shy at first. She warms up great though. This pup likes cats and loves other dogs. We have started crate training and potty training. This pup will go home current on vaccines and preventives and microchipped. She is spayed and heartworm tested(negative).This pup will receive a certificate of health issued by our vet prior to transport. The adopter will get all health records with adoption. Rusty oh Rusty! What a hoot! One year old Rusty is believed to be a Basset/hound or a Basset/lab mix. You can see that his front legs turn out like a Basset hound. This little low rider loves everybody including cats and other dogs. He just loves everyone. Rusty ended up in a high kill shelter and the staff immediately fell in love with his gregarious personality. Children are his special buddies and frisbee playing is his athletic prowess. Rusty likes to snuggle with his humans and at night will sleep on his comfy dog bed next to his human’s bed. He seems to have an abundant amount of energy to be able to hike or take a romp at a dog park. All around he is a jewel of dog and would be a great addition to an active family. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Shortcake (GA) is a female Basset/Hound mix estimated to be 6 years old at the time of intake in July 2024. Shortcake is up to date on vaccines and is microchipped. She will be spayed prior to joining her forever home unless there is a medical reason why it has not yet been completed (in which case RDR NYC will work with the adopter to ensure this is done at the appropriate time). Shortcake is good with people, other dogs and even cats. We don't know what Shortcake's life was like that landed her in a shelter suffering with some untreated medical issues. Fortunately, Shortcake was pulled out of the shelter so she could receive the medical care she required and when we received a request to provide that medical care to Shortcake, of course we said YES! Shortcake's medical issues have been treated and this adorable girl is ready to start her life over with her forever family. Shortcake is sweet (of course!). She is quite a chunky girl and is on a weight loss regimen. Her joints are a bit squeaky, but she's on an arthritis supplement as well. Shortcake is literally one of the easiest going dogs ever and even a little person could walk her easily! Shortcake is on a special food as she cannot have chicken.
