Ralphie's basic bio is below, but we maintain more detailed information about each of our animals on our website, which is also always up to date with animals removed immediately once they are adopted. Please visit Ralphie's page on our site (https://www.muddypawsrescue.org/adoptable?dog=008239) to learn even more about Ralphie! Additionally, please note that the breed listed for Ralphie is just our best guess based on the dog's physical features. We cannot make any guarantees about the accuracy of our guesses. PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO VOLUME, WE ARE GENERALLY UNABLE TO RESPOND TO INQUIRIES MADE USING THE 'ASK ABOUT ME' BUTTON. Please reach out to us directly using the contact information on our website: www.muddypawsrescue.org. Ralphie is very friendly and is also just beginning to come out of his shell and show us pieces of his unique personality. He's confident, especially considering how many things appear to be new to him. Ralphie did not seem to be familiar with any commands or words but within 24 hours he mastered "sit," so he definitely has lots of potential to be a well-trained good boy. Ralphie is excitable, as 1-year-olds usually are, especially on walks and when he spots another dog, someone running, or something new. At home he's just beginning to learn that he can politely ask to play, cuddle, and go outside for the bathroom. He loves walks and being outside, belly rubs on the couch, and looking out the window. He's also comfortable being independent and taking a snooze in a place near us but where he can be left in peace. So far, Ralphie's learning that the world has more and better things to offer than what he's seen so far and he's loving it. Did I mention that his tiny legs and disproportionately large head are irresistible?

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Shortcake (GA) is a female Basset/Hound mix estimated to be 6 years old at the time of intake in July 2024. Shortcake is up to date on vaccines and is microchipped. She will be spayed prior to joining her forever home unless there is a medical reason why it has not yet been completed (in which case RDR NYC will work with the adopter to ensure this is done at the appropriate time). Shortcake is good with people, other dogs and even cats. We don't know what Shortcake's life was like that landed her in a shelter suffering with some untreated medical issues. Fortunately, Shortcake was pulled out of the shelter so she could receive the medical care she required and when we received a request to provide that medical care to Shortcake, of course we said YES! Shortcake's medical issues have been treated and this adorable girl is ready to start her life over with her forever family. Shortcake is sweet (of course!). She is quite a chunky girl and is on a weight loss regimen. Her joints are a bit squeaky, but she's on an arthritis supplement as well. Shortcake is literally one of the easiest going dogs ever and even a little person could walk her easily! Shortcake is on a special food as she cannot have chicken. If you would like some Shortcake in your household, please apply online to adopt Shortcake (GA) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.  Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 7, 2024, 1:36 am
