Meet Mahi! She loves to dance for attention and she’s so loving. She’s a dachshund or basset mix with maybe some shepherd in her. When Irish eyes are smiling, does that mean they are happy? Or maybe they had too many pints at the pub? My eyes are smiling, and I am a non drinker, just want to have full disclosure here! Even though my eyes were smiling in these pictures. I was desperate for help for my little one, Lewis. You see, he was dying...full of internal and external parasites he really had no fight left in him and I knew it as his mother... so I used my Irish eyes to get us saved. AND IT WORKED!! Our lives are do amazing now, Lewis is alive and well after some very intense care, and ADOPTED INTO AN AMAZING HOME!!! I am not ever producing more babies, so it is all good! Now I get my turn for love, comfort and safety and a FOREVER HOME!! I am an adorable girl, about 50# of low-rider basset/heeler-ness. I am great with other dogs and like to play keep away! I am ready when you are, do your stuff so we can ride off into the sunset, in air conditioning, of course! Meet Speedo! At 5 months old Speedo weighs 30#. We are guessing he will end up being around 40-45#. He is sweet, smart, energetic, curious & fearless. I haven't found anything he is afraid of! Speedo has the cutest curled up tail and beautiful white & brindle markings. He can entertain himself by playing with his toys, but also loves all dogs and people. He is potty trained (we have a dog door). He is quick to learn commands. He already knows come, sit, down, wait, no, off and leave it. He quietly sleeps in his pen at night. Speedo is a typical puppy with lots of energy (usually followed by a nap). He would love a fenced in backyard and/or another dog to play with. Cuddling with this little guy just makes your heart melt. We believe Speedo's mom is a Bassett hound mix weighing just 22# (I have pictures of her). This cute & funny little guy is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on shots and preventatives. His adoption fee is $325.

Roman (Romy) is a 1yr. old male Bassett mix. He is full of curiosity and energy. He loves to cuddle and he even “talks” sometimes. He can be amusing at times especially when he trips over his chunky front paws. Roman is about 30-35 Ibs. He enjoys all types of squeaky toys and is learning to fetch. He has made himself quite at home and has made friends with our dog. He doesn’t discriminate when it comes to playmates. He’s been around large and small dogs and a cat. He is learning to walk on a leash and is getting better everyday. He doesn’t require a fenced yard. He loves his chew toys but needs to have access to plenty of them or he might chew a cord or shoe. Roman is not crate trained but is housebroken. He will whine at the door when he needs to go out. Roman loves to eat and has been caught attempting to “counter surf”. All in all, Roman is a complete sweetheart and will be a happy addition to his forever home. If you are interested, complete the Adoption Application on our website at www.NeedyPaws.org and we will contact you. Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Roman’s adoption fee is $275.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
