Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Rigby and his 3 siblings found themselves unwanted and on death row in a high kill shelter in West Texas. They love other dogs. They love everyone and everything, cats are unknown however likely ok with slow intros and supervision. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training. Hello I am Rigby, I am fairly new to MN but I am figuring things out here. I have yet to meet a dog I don't like, big or small. I am respectful of the crabby ones too. I love chewing on bones and I share them well with the other dogs here, we are always swapping them around. I enjoy chasing the big dog, but I just can't keep up with him with my little legs, it's ok, I wait for him to circle back and I try again. Zoomies in the house are so much fun as I can run right underneath him. Playing tug with the toys or stuffies is another favorite past time of mine;I enjoy both toys that crinkle and/or squeek. I have started to learn a game called fetch, but I don't know why humans always take it away and throw it again, but if that's the game they want to play, I am up for it. I do like to chew on the toys, however and I am not really sure what all are toys and what aren't, so if you leave shoes or clothes on the floor I may walk off with them but I do easily give them up to you if you want them back. I love to hang out on the couch or a comfy dog bed. I am somewhat of a couch potato. I am pretty quiet, but please know I am a hound, so can I sing the song of my people if I feel the need. I am a velcro pup and like to be near the humans, big or small. I am a very gentle boy. I don't mind you going out of the room, but I may follow you if I feel you need some supervision. I have met a cat and I didn't really care much about them, I did give her kisses and sniff, she was so sweet with me. So I would be ok with a dog savvy cat in the home and of course proper introductions. I am still young so I do get spurts of energy which apparently not all animals appreciate. I have enjoyed the car rides I have been on and I sleep snuggled on the dog bed in the back or will rest my head on the center console if I can reach it. I walk decently on a leash already, I've not been on one before coming to MN, so I am excited for the adventures these things bring. I am eagar to learn and love my atta boy praises, especially if there are treats involved. I know sit and I guess I am working on my recall, whatever that is. I have caught onto potty training and have no accidents in my foster home now, but I may not be 100% when I am in a new enviroment, so you will need to help me and be patient for a little bit. I do well with reminders to go outside & it's helpful for me to be successful so I know where to go and what to do when in new places. I know how to use a doggie door for going in/outside and I do enjoy the outdoors, even with the cooler MN weather. I am kennel trained and I go in on my own to just chill. I go in super easy, especially if you toss some treats inside when you have to go somewhere. I don't mind being in there when I eat my meals, but I do eat just fine next to the resident dogs too, one actually spits food out for me to eat, how awesome is that? I am not fussy on my food or my treats, I am not one to pass up food. I keep my kennel clean when I am in it. I do prefer to have a companion near by so the humans have me sleep in the same room with them so they can get some sleep and I will sleep all night that way. I now sleep on a dog bed on the floor. I would love to sleep in the bed with them, they tell me it will be up to my forever family to make that call. If you're looking for an inquistive, laid back, loyal pooch, I'm your guy. First priority will go to someone who lives in the twin cities metro in order to bring to our vet partner for neuter appointment.
