Story
Rusty oh Rusty! What a hoot! One year old Rusty is believed to be a Basset/hound or a Basset/lab mix. You can see that his front legs turn out like a Basset hound. This little low rider loves everybody including cats and other dogs. He just loves everyone. Rusty ended up in a high kill shelter and the staff immediately fell in love with his gregarious personality. Children are his special buddies and frisbee playing is his athletic prowess. Rusty likes to snuggle with his humans and at night will sleep on his comfy dog bed next to his human’s bed. He seems to have an abundant amount of energy to be able to hike or take a romp at a dog park. All around he is a jewel of dog and would be a great addition to an active family. Rusty is about 55 pounds which is actually a good weigh for him. If you are interested in adopting Rusty, EMAIL STORKWOODS@COMCAST.NET and request an adoption application. This is the fasted way to get the ball rolling toward making him a member of your family. We are a volunteer rescue group so please be kind!

Story
Meet Slinky! The ultimate low rider with a zest for life and a "help yourself" attitude. We’re guessing he’s a Jack Russell/Bassett/Pitty mix, but honestly, he’s 100% adorable and 110% personality.Slinky’s got the heart of a sweetheart and the soul of a sneaker thief. Belly rubs? His love language. Squeaky toys? His obsession. Personal space? Never heard of it. Oh, and if you leave snacks (or socks) unattended? Let’s say Slinky calls that a "finders keepers" policy. This happy-go-lucky guy is a pro at making friends—dogs, humans, you name it. He’s house-trained, crate-trained, and sleeps like a champ. Plus, he's surprisingly quiet for a pup who thinks every day is a party.Slinky’s energy level is set to fun mode, so he’d love an active family ready to keep up with his shenanigans. Sure, he could use some leash lessons and a crash course in manners, but with his food motivation, he’ll be the star student of snack-based learning.Initially found in Texas after being abandoned (rude!), Slinky hit the jackpot with Paws New England. He’s living the good life in New England waiting to bring his playful energy and sock-thieving charm to his forever home. Story
Hello, My family: Rosebud (F, momma), Elmer (M, daddy), Zinnia (F), Roisin (F, Irish for Rose), and Magnolia (F). We were found on a country road with few houses and fewer cars passing by. To our blessing, a lady in a pickup truck came by shortly after we were dumped. It was also in our favor she knew who we were and that our owner had died. Our savior was a foster mom for this dog rescue. We are healthy, happy, and ready for our very own homes. We are shy at first with strangers, but that doesn't last long. We are social babies. Our foster mom has many other dogs/ puppies, cats/ kittens, and horses. We love the water. There is a little swimming pool and a creek. Rosebud (F) would like to go for walks or hiking. Elmer (M) Is special needs. When he exited the yard one day, he returned the next day. Something had attacked him. His left leg had repairs done outside and inside of his rear leg. No residual problems. He also had one toe on his left foot amputated. Zinnia (F), Roisin (F), and Magnolia (F) are the silliest, happiest girls. They love putting their face in the water and blowing bubbles—just clowns. We are all ready to be adopted. Please request an application today, alittlelonger2home@gmail.com, to begin our journey home to you. I am prepared for an adventure! I want to see the beach, lake, apple orchards, hiking trails... Zinnia Spayed Female Breed Basset Hound mix Color White and fawn Age 7 months old (As of 09/08/2024) Weight 20lbs Great with people, children, dogs/ puppies, cats/ kittens and horses Adoption donation $495
