Our dogs are fostered and physically located in NC until adopted. Once adopted we can transport to your location or any of our other delivery location. This pup was born to a basset hound lab mix mom. She was born 7-1-22. This pup is shy at first. She warms up great though. This pup likes cats and loves other dogs. We have started crate training and potty training. This pup will go home current on vaccines and preventives and microchipped. She is spayed and heartworm tested(negative).This pup will receive a certificate of health issued by our vet prior to transport. The adopter will get all health records with adoption. Stumpy-Bassett Hound/Labrador Retriever (Bassador) male, ~ 1-2 yr. (March 2024) Contact rescuebc@hotmail.com for application to adopt. Stumpy is living in a very rural area with a family that asked for help in finding him a new home. He's used to living a family life with children and loves the children. He would be best as an only dog. He's a mixed dog but a popular mix, called a Bassador. The Bassador temperament can vary a lot depending on whether they take after their Lab or Basset Hound parent more. Generally, they are sociable and loving. We are fortunate to know how Stumpy has done, living with a family. Bassadors love attention, especially from their favorite person. If you want a dog with a very unique look who’s loyal to a fault, the Bassador could be the dog for you! Stumpy's adoption fee is $350 to help cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption. He's a good boy that likes to be active. He was lacking in confidence and social skills. He has been in training for several months now and has done a great job ! He has learned to politely play with other dogs and make friends with many humans . Butchey walks well on a leash and does well out in public. A dog savvy household will be best for him. Continued training would be a plus. He can be in a home with other dogs. However we believe Butchey would do best in a home with an older, mature, stable, female canine. We want him to maintain his newly acquired skills. If allowed, he can become overly attached to his human. Butchey's currently still in a boarding / training facility due to a lack of fosters in rescue. He will require a physical fence. This is not negotiable. He is up to date on shots. He is an energetic fun loving boy. Loves to play ball and his toys. Rides great in a car. Good with people. No small or senior dogs, unknown about cats. Unknown how he would do with bigger dogs hasn't been tested with them. Knows how to sit. Very smart, doesn't chew and is housebroken. He will bring fun and joy to your life. Let's talk about this sad story right here! This guy, rocky, has grown up, literally in the shelter. One of the volunteers who walks the dogs goes there every day and takes them for a long walk! She cries every time she thinks about how long he's been there, especially because he is so perfect, he's great with kids! He's great with other dogs. He loves to walk he's kennel trained he's happy all the time his tail never stops wagging it just goes to show you what a special boy he is having been at the Shelter for so long and he still has a beautiful disposition , we would love to get this guy his family.
