Story
Rowley is a true cuddle-bug. While he has a bit of a mischievous streak, none of that matters when he snuggles in next to you. Or on you. Your heart will become a glorious warm puddle in your chest. He is beautifully socialized and pretty much bomb proof. His mischief includes mostly trying to steal food from the table, knocking over trash cans and squirreling his toys (and others’ toys) in his crate. He’s tall enough to look on the counter, but not tall enough to get more than a sniff. (If there’s a chair nearby, though, he is not afraid of scaling heights to get to the plate of french fries you’ve foolishly left on the counter!) He doesn’t chew anything inappropriate and has been sleeping happily all night curled up next to his foster mom on her bed. He is a strong dog who needs someone who can keep hold of his leash on walks, since he pulls to explore all the smells. He gets along with other dogs, but might be happiest as an only dog, because then he’ll get all the attention. He will bark at noises outside, but is happy to meet new people. He’ll be a great addition to any family. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- BUTCHIE IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR ANOTHER RESCUE ORGANIZATION. PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW.Paws Crossed Dog Rescue email: pawscrossedinfo@yahoo.com Paws Crossed Dog Rescue serves the Eastern Panhandle of WV and nearby areas.  Please read ADOPTION INFO on the left side of our website to learn about the adoption application process. Butchey is a 2 1/2 -year old, neutered male, weighing in at around 35 pounds.  He's a good boy that likes to be active. He was lacking in confidence and social skills.  He has been in training for several months now and has done a great job !  He has learned to politely play with other dogs and make friends with many humans .  Butchey walks well on a leash and does well out in public.   A dog savvy household will be best for him. Continued training would be a plus. He can be in a home with other dogs. However we believe Butchey would do best in a home with an older, mature, stable, female canine.  We want him to maintain his newly acquired skills. If allowed, he can become overly attached to his human.  Butchey's currently still in a boarding / training facility due to a lack of fosters in rescue.   He will require a physical fence.  This is not negotiable.  Please read Adoption Info on the left side of our website. Email inquiries can be made to PawsCrossedDogRescue@yahoo.com   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 26, 2025, 9:30 pm

Story
“Is that fun I smell?!” Yes, sweet Arlie has a nose for fun and he is looking for a forever playmate! He is a one-year old, medium-sized beagle mix who loves to run around and play, whether it's chasing a ball or a new scent. He is great with other dogs and with kids, and is delighted to roll over for belly rubs or snuggle up with his humans. When he’s not sniffing out adventure, Arlie is happy to rest and recharge for his next escapade on a couch, dog bed, or in his crate. Arlie is a dog who loves toys. His foster says that Arlie is great at entertaining himself with his toys, knows basic commands, is respectful of the home, and enjoys long walks with lots of sniffs. This confident, curious boy would be thrilled to have an owner who can give him multiple walks a day. Arlie loves to sniff and explore, pal around and play.  Arlie is super sweet, easy-going, and happy to be along for the ride, no matter the destination. ##2283294##

Story
**SENIOR** Susie is a six-year old Beagle who is looking for a calm home where she can enjoy quiet time with her person. She loves to be held and she loves gentle pets. Susie also likes to spend time outdoors and being a hound; she is led by her nose. Susie walks slowly on leash, following scents of woodland creatures and other dogs. She doesn't go too far and is happy to stay in her very own yard. Susie's foster reports that Susie doesn't love her crate but she is housebroken and not destructive. She also says that Susie is equally comfortable with her husband.  At just over twenty pounds, Susie a great size to take with you in the car to a local park where she can discover new scents. Susie can be hesitant when meeting new dogs but after a few respectful sniffs, will warm up. In general, and throughout the day, Susie is content to find a sunny spot on a blanket to rest. ##2318662##
