Puppies are cute, cuddly and looking for a family to call their own. They need an owner who is home often, and willing to help with training, socializing and housebreaking. They need to be let out often so they can learn to go potty outside. Training is required, and we will need to see proof from adopters that puppies have been signed up for classes. They need an owner to be committed to them forever, and in return they will reward you with a lifetime of cuddles, kisses and love. Sound like a commitment you're ready to make? Please fill out an adoption application and Fetching Tails Foundation will be in touch soon!If you'd like to adopt this dog, please get started by filling out a complete application (incomplete submissions cannot be sent.) Please note that while we take time to learn as much as we can about each dog in our care as possible, our bios are written from current observations. Though we do our best to share as much information as possible about each dog we care for, we are unable to make any guarantees on the future health or temperament of your adopted dog. Most dogs in our care come with unknown pre-rescue history, and information pertaining to breed and age are often educated guesses.

When Irish eyes are smiling, does that mean they are happy? Or maybe they had too many pints at the pub? My eyes are smiling, and I am a non drinker, just want to have full disclosure here! Even though my eyes were smiling in these pictures. I was desperate for help for my little one, Lewis. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Banks, the lovable hound with a heart of gold! Read what Banks's foster has to say about him: "I can't say enough how much I absolutely ADORE him! He's 9 and a half, but he's full of life and energy. Banks absolutely LOVES his walks and being outside, and he enjoys spending time with humans. He's good about letting me know when he needs to go outside and waits patiently at the door. If I don't catch him, he'll bark to get my attention, although he does still have the occasional pee accident in the house. Banks gets along well with other dogs, but he likes to be in their space a lot, so he might do best with dogs who are more social and don't mind that kind of interaction. He's reactive to other dogs during walks (barking and lunging), but with some training treats, he quickly shifts his focus back to me. At home, he loves lounging on the couch and snuggling with his humans. He's even taken to sleeping in the bed with me, and he stays in one spot all night. He's highly food motivated, and I found out he knows tricks like sit, paw, lay down, and even jump. He also stays if you tell him to! Banks also enjoys playing with toys every now and then-his favorite is a crocodile-shaped squeaker toy-and he loves a good game of tug of war! He's such a sweet guy, too-he gives the most gentle kisses and is always affectionate. When he first came to me, Banks was constantly licking his paws, but since starting allergy medication and receiving a Cytopoint injection, he's been doing so much better! It's really helped him, and he seems much more comfortable now. Oh, and he's a talker! If I bark, he'll bark back, which is just hilarious. All in all, Banks is such a sweet, fun, goofy, and loving dog, and I feel so lucky to have him in my care. Thank you for placing him with me, we are enjoying our time together! "

Story
Hope - Female. 3 years old Beagle/Hound (BREED IS BEST GUESS ONLY) Current Weight 28 pounds Date of Birth 7/1/21 Meet Hope. This sweet beautiful girl was left abandoned at the gate of the shelter in Alabama. She sat there and waited for someone/anyone to rescue her. Thank goodness help arrived by the amazing people at the shelter and took her in. Upon arrival it was quick to notice she had “something” going on with her mouth and eye, and though no rescues can really afford expensive medical conditions we just knew we could not leave her there. A wonderful person stepped up and we got her to Illinois. She immediately went to our vet here where it was determined that yes this poor girl had been through some trauma (either human or vehicle there was no way of knowing) and her diagnosis was 2 horrifically cracked teeth in the back of her mouth along with eye damage. After a pressure test was done it was determined this poor girls eye had so much pressure it’s like living with a constant migraine and it was recommended that it be removed. Hope’s surgery went very well and she’s now fully healed. Though she may only have one eye (this does not take away from her cuteness or personality) she’s still the most loving animal and is now pain free ready to find her forever family. Here’s what her foster mom said about her…. Hello, my name is Hope. My foster told me I'm a good girl and very sweet. I also like to snuggle with her in bed. I have lots of toys that I chew on and take them outside to play too. I have dug a few holes in the yard, but my foster filled them in and I haven't dug them again. I have been with 3 little dogs and don't mind them at all, I try to play with them, but they are older and don't play much. I think I would do better with little bit older kids because when I get excited I sometimes jump. But I calm down fast. I might be shy at first but I warm up quickly. She is house broken and with a little more training would do well on a leash with walking. (She’s probably never had this). She likes car rides and usually just falls asleep in the seat. Also she doesn’t mind being crated but sometimes doesn’t go in on her own. She’s great with any human, kids and dogs. She loves to play. Fenced in yard would be a plus. If Hope sounds the perfect fit for you and your family, please visit the rescue website www.foreverhomedogrescueil.org for requirements, process and applications. WE DO NOT DO OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS Thank you for considering the adoption of one of our rescue dogs. We are committed to finding our rescues the perfect home. Together we can make a difference in the life of a dog. The adoption process should be a fun and exciting time for families and dogs. Our goal is to place our babies in forever homes. The potential adopter needs to be dedicated to their care and training for life. Understand that sharing your life with a dog can be a commitment of 15+ years. This would include feeding, exercise, training, vetting, and providing a loving home. Ask yourself, "Am I ready for this type of commitment?" If you are ready, we are here to help. We do have some requirements to help us find the perfect placement of our babies. WE ARE A FOSTER BASED RESCUE ONLY. WE DO NOT HAVE A PHYSICAL BUILDING 1. Apply online at https://www.foreverhomedogrescueil.org We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family (including other dogs) to approve an adoption. Only a final approval for adoption can take place after a successful meet and greet. This is done by appointments only. We will not proceed with the adoption if everyone has not met the dog. This will allow others the opportunity to adopt the dog. 2. Adopters MUST be 25 years old. Information on all adults/members living in the home is required We REQUIRE you to provide proof and vet reference that all current and past pets have been kept up to date on all routine medical. 3. Illinois law requires that all of our dogs and puppies be spayed/neutered within 30 days of adoption. In order to fully comply with this regulation and reduce the number of homeless dogs and puppies, 4. If you do not own your home, you must provide landlord contact information on the application and a copy of your lease that outlines the rules for dog ownership in your residence. Large breed dogs will not be adopted into apartment settings or where there are breed/ size restrictions. Puppies have special needs and require a home where someone is available to care for, socialize, and give basic training. If you are gone for more than a couple hours at a time, please consider adopting a teen or older dog. 5. Adoption fees are $400.00. We accept Zelle, Cash or Checks. (Prices are subject to change without notice). 6. All dogs and puppies adopted through Forever Home are fully vetted with age appropriate vaccines. Keep in mind once you take possession of your newly adopted dog, any and all future medical costs or care is YOUR responsibility. 7. First time puppy/dog adopters will be required to sign up for and pay in advance a basic training class. A deposit of an extra 50.00 will be required until a class has been completed, it will then be returned. 8.
