Story
Meet Casper Casper is a handsome boy. He was surrendered when his foster parents could no longer keep him. He is a great young pup. Casper is about 1 – 1.5 years old. Our vet thinks he is a Basset/Shar Pei mix. He is a low-rider kind of dog with a beautiful cream-colored coat and gorgeous blue eyes. He weighs between 40 and 45 lbs. Casper LOVES being with people. He doesn’t like being by himself. He gives doggie kisses, happy tail wags and will crawl into your lap if he has a chance. He loves other dogs too. Every day he greets his doggie neighbors when he has yard time. He can get spooked easily though and will need a containment fenced yard to keep him safe. He’d do well with another dog in the home to play with and keep him company. Casper walks easily on a leash and is a good leash walker. If he gets spooked though, he tries to bolt and could be a flight risk. Nothing that two hands, a sturdy harness and/or a fenced yard can’t cure though. Casper does not like cats and should be in a home with no cats. Casper is a sweet, friendly, affectionate, smart, curious, and happy boy. He is also housetrained – bonus! He has impeccable manners. This boy is a doll. We’ve fallen in love with his easy-going and loving ways. We love seeing him interact with other dogs. He seems so happy and carefree when he’s running around saying hi. Casper would like to be your couch snuggle buddy and ride along dog if given the chance. This boy has it all. If you are looking for a great medium sized pup to welcome to your heart and home, Casper may be the one. If interested in welcoming Casper to your family, please submit an application online at: www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org. Please use the downloadable application found on our homepage. Story
Meet Petey Petey is a shelter favorite. Since arriving, this low-rider pup has charmed everyone with his happy personality and easy-going demeanor. He is the proverbial social butterfly and a never met a stranger kind of dog. We pulled Petey from a high-kill shelter. He had been found wandering and was picked up as a stray. Petey is a two-year old Basset hound mix. He weighs just 40-45 lbs. He has a warm friendly face, a beautiful short-haired coat and a wide smile. He’s extremely gentle and affectionate. He loves pets and scratches and just absorbs all the love he can get. He enjoys his yard time and loves seeing the other dogs in the yards and does great with cats. He greets his doggie neighbors with a happy tail wag and sniffs. He’s super playful. Petey walks well on a leash. He rides well in a car and would love to go on adventures with his people. Petey seems to be housetrained already, which is a big bonus! Petey needs a fenced yard given that he was found wandering. We don’t want him to wander off and get lost into the system again. If you are looking for a great family dog, a happy boy and one who will bring so much love to your life, Petey may be for you. Petey will be able to go home in March after he’s neutered. If interested in welcoming Petey to your heart and home, please submit an application online at: www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org. Please use the downloadable application found on our homepage. Story
York seems to be a very special guy. He will bond to his people very quickly, he is shy around men and takes a little time to warm up. He must have had bad things happen in his past, poor pup. He adores attention and snuggles from his people and is really an all around GOOD BOY! York would do best with kis over 12, since fast movements from younger ones make him a bit jumpy. Who knows what his past was like. York enjoys romps with some dogs but prefers to have all the attention.

Story
These sweet pups were born into rescue after a good Samaritan took momma in as a stray. The pups have been well cared for and are almost ready for their forever homes. They are happy, healthy, playful and SWEET with excellent demeanors. We do not know what dad is, of course. Momma is 50 lbs so the projected size of grown pups is 45 to 65 lbs.
