Story
Meet Sueno, a sweetheart who's as affectionate as they come! This loving pup adores running and playing, especially with his senior dog friend, and he's always up for cuddles, belly rubs, and cozy late-morning naps. Suemo is a dream on a leash-he walks politely, never pulls, and stays calm around passersby. A quiet and well-mannered companion, he rarely barks and already knows commands like sit, paw, no, and settle down. His treat motivation makes him eager to learn even more! If you are looking for an adventure buddy, Sueno is the pup for you. He enjoys long hikes and exploring bodies of water, according to his former foster mom. While Sueno loves his canine pals, he's a little too enthusiastic about cats and would thrive best in a cat-free home. If you're looking for a playful, snuggly, and trainable best friend, Sueno is ready to fill your life with love and joy! Put in an application to meet him today!

Story
We are seniors and adopted peanut and piglet ( daughter and mother) from a shelter near Chattanooga TN in 3/23 after our dog passed of old age and illness in 2/23. We had planned to adopt a poodle but she turned out to have serious biting issues. We love the girls but they were untrained and can’t deal with other dogs though they are good with our 5 year old granddaughter. We can’t train them we did get them vaccinated and spayed and microchipped. After several applications for her mother we have decided that we can’t separate the girls. Check out her mom piglet’s profile

Story
This adorable little man is Hamilton! He arrived at the shelter as a lost boy on 12/1, and no one has come to reclaim him. Hamilton was so very scared when he arrived, but with a little time to decompress and lots of TLC from the volunteers and staff, he's starting to relax. Hamilton is a sweetheart with lots of love to give; he's trying to learn how to trust people again. Can you help mend his broken heart? If you have a soft spot for the shy kids, please come meet Hamilton. He'll show you how lovely he can sit for treats! Hamilton is approximately 3 years old, and he weighs 29 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines, and neutered; he will be microchipped, and heartworm tested upon adoption. Hamilton is waiting patiently in kennel 31`2; his ID # is 6604. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Story
Floyd is one of the #dogsindanger at Habersham County Animal Shelter. Floyd is 4-5 years old, 35 pounds and has been fixed. We have not yet heartworm tested him because he hates needles and manifests a demon when anyone tries to restrain him. He also has a part time gig with David Cooperfield and can escape any muzzle by the time the curtain rises. For the last 3 months we’ve watch people inquire about him due to his perfect size and unique looks- but then meet him and go running for the hills Floyd was called in as a stray. He was were told Floyd had “just shown up” and they had “no clue where he came from”. Floyd had a collar and tags. The collar and tags belonged to family of his “finder”. But nobody had seen him ever before Of course the phone number was disconnected. Searching names brought us to an address of where a camper used to be. Floyd is kind of a cactus. A bit prickly. But I like him. We have an understanding. Floyd would make a great dog for someone who isn’t really a cuddly person. He likes walks and enjoys respectful older children. He gets a little frisky pounce every now and then. He CAN play with other doggies if they’re submissive - and I think going forward we can make more friends. He does better with one on one dog interactions than playgroup - but he wants his space. I get it. Floyd doesn’t like being loved on much- UNLESS its belly rubs that he asks for.   If you can save Floyd ;Habersham County Animal Shelter Clarkesville GA 30523 706-839-0195Mnix@habershamga.comDecember 13, 2024, 8:23 pm

Story
Birthday: 4/14/2019 Weight: 24lb Ginger is 5 years old, and her favorite thing is snuggle up next to you! We adopted her from a family who was unable to keep her due to rental restrictions in 2019. She is currently in a house with another dog and 2 young kids aged 3 and under, and she has done well with them. She is very sweet and absolutely adores attention. She is very food motivated. She is fairly active - she loves to go on her walks and loves running around playing fetch with a ball. I think she would do well in a house with adults who have the time to go outside with her and play. Ginger has some anxiety and can be defensive/territorial. Although she is very comfortable with members of the household, she will bark at guests entering the home or neighbors who are too near the house. Note: she does have a history of bites with male guests and male neighbors - does well with being crated when guests are over, needs to be leashed when outside.
