Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Are you looking for a new best friend? Look no further! Meet Amos, a 5-6yo, 21lb. possible basset hound/beagle mix. Amos had a tough time in his life prior to coming to Lil Rascals, finding himself homeless and roaming around a Georgia nieghborhood until someone finally cared enough to help him. As a result, he is a little anxious and shy. But that doesn’t stop this short-legged boy from wanting to be your best friend. He loves to meet new people and enjoys going places with his humans - whether on walks or in the car. He hasn’t spent much time around children, but in his limited interactions he’s done fine. Amos loves to cuddle, sleep and spend time with you and your dog! He would do best in a home with another dog, as he looks to other dogs for comfort and cues. He is currently in a home with a cat and is mostly uninterested although he has shown some friendly curiosity. He is not quite housebroken but he is trying his best to figure it out and his accidents are happening less frequently. He is more likely to go potty in a fenced-in yard with someone outside with him than on a walk, but he walks well on a leash and enjoys going on adventures. He is a scent hound, so he likes to stop and sniff everything while walking. Amos responds well to positive reinforcement and needs a home that can show him a lot of patience and love. Loud noises (including squeaky toy) and voices scare him, and he may bark when he hears a noise he’s unsure of. Although he’s a hound, we’ve only heard him bark, not howl. He is very food motivated but hasn’t shown any signs of food aggression. He is overly excited when it comes to mealtime and cries and jumps. We’ve been working on training him to be calm around these times so he doesn’t exhaust himself with excitement, but Amos is still a work in progress. He will go in the crate with a treat but prefers not to be in crate. He sleeps well through the night in bed with you or on a dog bed in your room. He loves cuddling in bed and he curls himself up into a little ball. Amos is a great little guy who is looking for a loving and patient home. He is social, friendly, and oh so sweet. He’d love to be your new best friend! Amos would do great in a home with someone who is retired and can spend time during the day with this good boy. Amos is heartworm positive at this time, and is on the slow kill protocol, which we can explain that process to any interested applicant. He can enjoy regular activities. Heart worm disease is contracted from an infected mosquito and can not be transmitted to another dog. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Amos, complete an app and tell us more about your family. April 15, 2026, 10:57 am

Story
We can’t believe this handsome, sweet boy Bowie is still waiting for his forever family! This beautiful soul has been with SBR for several months, and everyone who meets him falls in love. Bowie is a recently retired breeder dog who’s finally getting his chance at the good life. Surrendered to SBR, he’s only just beginning his journey toward becoming a cherished family member. He’s in excellent health, full of spunk, and has energy to spare—this boy is ready to enjoy life. Like many dogs coming from a breeding environment, Bowie can be a little shy and unsure of the big world outside a kennel. But every day, his foster dad sees more and more of his wonderful personality shining through. With time to decompress and feel safe, he continues to blossom into the sweet, goofy, and loving boy he truly is. Bowie’s ideal forever home will have another friendly dog to help guide him and give him confidence. A fenced-in yard is also a must—he loves exploring safely and having space to run and play. Bowie has now completed his wellness check and neuter, and he is fully cleared for adoption. This sweet boy is officially ready to find his perfect forever home, where he can enjoy the comfort, love, and belly rubs he’s been waiting for.

Story
Meet Roscoe! This gorgeous boy is estimated to be around 3–5 years old, and he not only has the looks, he has the sweetest personality too. Roscoe was found as a stray and ended up in a county shelter before Suncoast Basset Rescue got the call to help. While we are not exactly sure of his age, Roscoe definitely seems to be on the younger side. His teeth are in great shape, and he appears to be healthy and well cared for overall. Even better, he is a very good boy — well behaved, rides nicely in the car, and gets along well with kids and other dogs. At this time, we are not sure how he does with cats. Roscoe is handsome, sweet, and already showing everyone what a wonderful companion he is.

Story
Meet Norris! At just 4 months old, Norris is already showing what a smart and social pup he is. He would thrive in a forever home with an active, playful dog, as he absolutely loves having friends and playing with them. Norris enjoys being part of the action and is happiest when he has a buddy to romp around with. A securely fenced yard is required so he can safely run, explore, and burn off his puppy energy. This bright young boy already knows “sit,” will sit and wait politely for his food bowl, uses a doggie door, and has mastered using a ramp to get in and out of his foster mom’s bed — also known as the big dog bed. He sleeps snuggled up all night without accidents, and on the rare occasion he needs a midnight potty break, he will wake his foster mom to let her know.Norris is doing great with handling, is good for nail trims, and hasn’t shown any fear of thunderstorms. He is currently working on polishing his potty training and learning to take treats gently. He has also shown that he doesn’t need to be crated when his foster mom goes out, even for longer periods of time.Like many curious puppies, Norris is discovering the world around him — including the kitchen garbage can and the exciting possibility of counter surfing. His new family should be ready to stay one step ahead of this clever, growing pup. Norris is a sweet, affectionate, and playful youngster who is ready to bring fun, snuggles, and a little bit of puppy mischief to his forever home.

Story
Rocky had 3 homes his first year. Ive worked with rocky for almost 5 years now. We were at the dog park where I live. The park is very small. Someone was walking their dog outside the park and Rocky broke out of the park and attacked the dog . The dog was bigger then Rocky but a puppy. The person hovered over their dog. Rocky punctured the skin of the dog and the person. I rent. They are requiring Rocky leave the premises immediately. This happened about a month ago.
