When Irish eyes are smiling, does that mean they are happy? Or maybe they had too many pints at the pub? My eyes are smiling, and I am a non drinker, just want to have full disclosure here! Even though my eyes were smiling in these pictures. I was desperate for help for my little one, Lewis. You see, he was dying...full of internal and external parasites he really had no fight left in him and I knew it as his mother... so I used my Irish eyes to get us saved. AND IT WORKED!! Our lives are do amazing now, Lewis is alive and well after some very intense care, and ADOPTED INTO AN AMAZING HOME!!! I am not ever producing more babies, so it is all good! Now I get my turn for love, comfort and safety and a FOREVER HOME!! I am an adorable girl, about 50# of low-rider basset/heeler-ness. I am great with other dogs and like to play keep away! Meet Mahi! She loves to dance for attention and she’s so loving. She’s a dachshund or basset mix with maybe some shepherd in her. She’s about 10 months old and weighs 27 pounds.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.November 3, 2024, 9:26 pm

WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org ShortStack - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Hi ya everyone, let me introduce myself. My name is ShortStack, warm and squishy just like a stack of pancakes!!! I'm here searching for a family, a home...one that I can call my very own! I'm around 9 months (DOB 1/17/24) and doing all the things a youngster loves to do... exploring, eating, playing, napping, playing some more and of course snuggling. I'm still in that spongey stage of my life where I'm soaking up...everything! I come in at about 30lb and will be a pawsomely perfect mediumish size boy that should be just about fully growed up. Perfect for all your action packed adventures!!! I do have some anxiety that we've been working on (and I'm doing really good) but it would probably be best if I could have a family with another furry sibling and where my human(s) either worked from home or were retired. I do really well with people both tall and small and of course playing with the other foster pups is just the best thing next to milkbones!! AND I haven't even chased the resident kitty!! I'm already house and crate trained, and do well on and off leash. I have many features of a Lab but with the shorter legs of the Bassett so I really really love anything that involves water!!! I'm in search of a home to call my very own, to have the honor to call you...family!! I've got a whole bunch of love stored up ready to unleash on...YOU!!! Won't you please fill out my adoption application?!! It can be found at haydudeequine.org

Story
Meet Loretta, a bundle of joy who has just celebrated her 7-month birthday. She's an absolute delight, with a personality that is as sweet as sugar. She's friendly to everyone she meets, always ready with a wagging tail and a playful bark. Her goofy antics will have you laughing out loud, while her gentle nature will melt your heart. Loretta is not just funny, she's also smart. She loves to play games and is quick to learn new tricks. When playtime is over, Loretta transforms into the perfect cuddle buddy, always ready for a snuggle. Adopting Loretta means bringing home a loving companion who will fill your days with laughter, joy, and endless love. Loretta Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. Visit our website to see our weekend Events here! Pups with the designated “meet me” next to their names are in CT and ready to attend adoption events. Please check with your adoption coordinator if you are interested in a specific dog prior to coming to an event, as a dog's availability to attend can change at any time. We can not guarantee approval on site at the events, so we recommend applying ahead of time. You can apply at the event, but the application process may not be able to be completed the same day. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pup’s at the event! The adoption fee is $500 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee. More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get an automatically generated confirmation email. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Story
This adorable girl is Shay. She is 2-years-old and weighs 30 lb. Shay is what we call a "low-rider", with short legs and a long body. We think she has some basset hound or dachshund in her. Shay is a very affectionate and sweet girl. We noticed she was favoring her back leg and upon xray, discovered Shay had previously fractured her pelvis. Maybe she was hit by a car? But things are looking up for Shay because she will be adopted into a loving home and have her second chance at the kind of life every dog deserves. Shay has no other health issues and is ready to settle into home life. She might appreciate a quieter home and probably won't be the most active dog. Snuggles on the couch and being with her people are what she has in store for her adopter. Shay is fine with other dogs and with cats. She will enjoy children if they are gentle with her. Shay is microchipped, vaccinated and will be spayed before adoption. Her adoption fee is $395. If you would like to meet/adopt Shay, please complete our online application at https://daws.org/daws-forms. Email daws@daws.org if you need assistance or have any questions.

Story
Introducing Gambit - the name's not just a coincidence; it's a testament to my ability to shape my destiny. Just like my Marvel/X-Men namesake, I've overcome my past and now look forward to a brilliantly bright future. My journey started in a rather somber place - a lonely field next to a gas station. Thankfully, kind souls would drop by, leaving me food and their hopes for a better life. One day, a persistent and resourceful lady decided to play her "pawn" and orchestrated my escape from that grim existence. Since then, I've been living with her and her doggy (and human) family. But now, I'm eagerly searching for my own forever family. Let's talk quirks. I'm a cheerful guy, but I've got some personal space boundaries. I'm protective of my face, so a home with adults or older, dog-savvy kids is my ideal match. I'm also a bit of a goofball and adore the company of other dogs. Now, I might not instantly become your best buddy; I take time to trust and get comfortable in my surroundings. But trust me, the patience will be worth it. I'm brimming with love and loyalty, just waiting for the right family to share it with. Here's the good news - I'm house and crate trained, proving that, yes, young dogs can indeed learn new tricks. Oh, and there's more - I'm pretty chill around cats, though a gentle introduction is wise. And I've been curious and respectful around a human baby, so that's a plus. One thing to note, though, is that I've had some reservations around men. Despite two years together, I haven't quite warmed up to my human's fianc and have snapped at him a few times. So, it might be best if I find a home without men. During a short stay with Kathy, I was a little shy but kept to myself. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a dash of X-Men flair and you're ready to give me the chance I deserve, let's make it happen. I can't wait to meet you and start this exciting new chapter together! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)
