Story
****** COURTESY POST - THE DOG IS NOT AT THE SHELTER******** Daisy is a lovely dog, I believe she is loving and caring unfortunately the problem is that she is scared of everything. I have another dog who pee’s randomly when she is stressed or scared and she stays in a corner most of the time and does not get along with my other blue heeler. She needs a home where she is the only pet she also overeats and starves and I think my other blue heeler and her have had an impact this week where they do not get along she needs a home where she is only paid attention to. Email kendrymolina@yahoo.com to learn more.    All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months).    All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control. Please click on the link for Yolo County Animal Services for more information. October 29, 2024, 5:08 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Female basset hound mixBella’s owner, who has provided good care for her, needs to surrender Bella because of her increasing work responsibilities. Bella is a 49-pound spayed female, approximately 6+ years old and is a basset mixed with some other breed. She is up to date on all her vetting, house trained, microchipped,  and is in good health. Bella is shy and fearful of strangers, at first, but after warming  up, she loves attention and affection. She is hesitant around other dogs, slowly becoming comfortable and might play a little, but otherwise keeps to herself. Bella pulls when on leash and barks and lunges at other dogs when on the leash with her owner. She is best with dogs of similar size or larger and has never had issues with other dogs when attending day care. She has no experience with cats nor much experience with children. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 7, 2024, 1:46 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Buzz is a 7 year old neutered male basset hound with a loving playful personality. Buzz's foster home has helped Buzz shed a few pounds, so he is more active, very playful, and has come out of his shell. Buzz is up to date on all his vetting, including recently having had a dental. Buzz is a wonderful boy, he is sweet as they come. He sure loves his humans and needs to be with them whenever he can, following you all over the home. He loves to ride in the car and walks to the park. He is a little shy when meeting new doggies, but warms up quickly. He does play well with other dogs as he has 2 basset buddies here, one 6yr and a 4 month puppy, he will let the puppy know when he wants to be left alone. Buzz is a great watch dog, keeping an eye out on his home. Not sure how Buzz will do with cats though. Buzz does bark when you walk out the door, but does settles right down. He does get real excited when you do return and will bark a bit. This wonderful boy will be a great addition to any family. He definitely is a couch potato and loves to lay by you as you watch TV and scratch his neck. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 7, 2024, 1:46 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This is Buddy, he is a young neutered Basset hound that came to us after quite a few changes in a short time.  3-1/2-year old Buddy came to GGBR after being with his owner only three months. He is a happy basset with a good dispostion who got along well with the other dog in the home as well as with dogs while on walks. He is friendly toward people and loves attention most of the time. After being in his short term home for a while, he developed a pattern of growling when he was laying down. This frightened one of the persons in the home, and thus Buddy needed to be rehomed. The primary owner did not feel the growling was a concerning issue, and found ways to give Buddy space if he did not want to be disturbed.  Buddy is a silly dude, a funny vocal hound. He is a cuddler, but also a busy, active boy! Buddy would do great with an active family that is dog experienced. Buddy needs an owner who can set boundaries for him; give Buddy an inch and he'll take a mile. Buddy does great with kids, but can sometimes be a little pushy and play rough, so young kids under 8 probably aren't recommended. Buddy is really good with other dogs, loves to play, but gets vocal when he's sleeping and isn't in the mood to play, so he requires a respectful doggie companion. He ignores kitties for the most part. Buddy is really good on a leash and in the car! He typically sleeps on the big human bed or in a crate. He is crate trained. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Lilly's foster parent has this to day about Lilly: Lilly is a sweet good natured girl. She would love to have a person of her own. She likes people and gets on with dogs and even cats. Lilly is not much into playing but would rather spend  time with her person and on a soft place to land. She likes to be inside and has worked hard on house training but still needs to be watched carefully. Lilly would be totally devoted to someone who would shower her with love. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 7, 2024, 10:55 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bubbles is a 7 year old  neutered male who came to GGBR when his  original owners passed away.  He spent his life as an only dog with  senior owners, not having much contact with other dogs. This boy is making up for lost time...he is 'kicking up his heels', bursting with energy and joy. He is housetrained, is in good health, and loves life! Bubbles is as playful and energetic as a puppy! He has lots of energy and just wants to be near his humans. He also enjoys relaxing on the sofa with his person. He gets along with other dogs, but doesn’t care to play with them, and has shown some signs of aggression when protecting his human from other dogs. No food aggression has been seen and he takes treats gently. Bubbles is used to having someone home all day, so he would do best with someone who is either retired, or works from home, or isn’t gone too long during the day. He can be left alone (with no food left out) or crated when gone. He also happily sleeps in his crate at night. Bubbles does need some training as he is so excited to be near you he jumps up a lot. He has also discovered that counter surfing is how you find yummy things to eat! Once he knows you, he is very friendly and such a happy boy, but he will need time to get to know new people.Bubbles has probably not had a lot of exposure to the outside world, even at 7 years of age. At this point, walks in the neighborhood scare him, so he will need brief and gentle exposure to walks, excursions, and new people, to try to make those experiences pleasant and stress-free, until he builds up some confidence.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 14, 2024, 11:15 pm
