Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Forever home wanted!!!!  Meet Zucki the Puppy!!!! Zucki (short for Zucchini lol) recently found himself as a stray at a local shelter. Sadly his family never came for him and he like all dogs in shelters today became at risk solely due to the shelter’s space needs. That is all behind him now as Zucki is safe with us and rocking his foster home.  Zucki is an active, smart 7 month old mix in the 30 pound range. We are not sure what breed he is.  The shelter said Basset Hound but we see some doxie in there so we went with both, this is what we call a Heinz’s 57 mix breed dog and they are the Best!.  Zucki gets along with people and dogs alike and just wants to be everyone’s friend.  He's a happy, healthy , energetic puppy that already knows how to use a crate and sleep through the night.  Zucki is looking for a family that is committed to training and socialization to help him become the best dog possible.  If Zucki sounds like the right dog for your family email dogs@labradorsandfriends.org or fill out our online application at www.labradorsandfriends.org  Zucki is located in Southern California.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 9, 2024, 2:46 pm

Story
Looking for a silly, outgoing, spunky and fun-loving Basset Hound and Boston Terrier mix to brighten your days? Then Heron may just be your guy! Heron originally came to us from a shelter in San Bernardino County, and he quickly made fast friends with everyone both two and four legged. His favorite pastimes at TBL include roaming the play yard with his buddies, playing fetch, going on weekend hikes with volunteers, and just being a ham for attention. You only need to meet him to know that this playful dude has a happy-go-lucky outlook on life and nothing will bring him down. Given his energy and tenacity, he would do best with an experienced owner that can keep him grounded and help set boundaries. Heron loves to give you kisses – whether your hands, arms, or face, he is not picky! He comes equipped with adorably squat legs, classic black and white coloring, constantly wagging tail, big inquisitive brown eyes, and happy smiling face. To those who know him well, and those he has established trust with, he is a very sweet, jolly, and obedient boy. Heron weighs around 30 pounds, a great size for most types of living situations. He is about 9 and a half years young (estimated DOB December 2011) but can still keep up with the best of them on long hikes and outdoor adventures. If Heron sounds like the perfect pup you have been looking for, come see if he is a match for you!If you'd like to meet Heron, please visit www.thebarkinglot.net/adoptTo initiate the adoption process for this dog, please complete our online application by clicking below. Story
Our Roger, is just a love bug:) he is a calm puppy, and loves to laid down on his bed and just give you a look with so much love of gratitude for giving him a safe and loving place to be fostered. :) he will be great with any family that will give him the time to get him out to be a busy body:) such as running, hiking, and he can even be with a laid back family as well. He has these gorgeous hazel eyes kind of green:) and we love his long ears:) A little more of his background: There were 7 total, 1 male has been adopted (Oreo) but we still have 6 boys and 1 girl left. They all have wonderful markings, of mixed breeds such as : Beagle, Bassett Hound, Labrador Retriever, Cattle- as dogs can have 7 different fathers. There are almost 4 1/2 months old now. Mama Mika is for adoption as well - however, she is a special needs dog. She was so abused that they damaged her eye and she lost it. Therefore, we had to perform surgery on her eye and removed to prevent future infections. She is very shy and so afraid of people. It will take that special angel who will have the patience with her to make her blossom again. She is coming along every day, and getting better but very slowly. She used to run from us - we left the food for her to eat and walk away. When we rescued her, she used to stuffed her mouth with food and run to the her puppies to throw up so they can eat. This is the situation when we found them up on a land-field hill sleeping inside tubes; they were about 2 months old and not getting enough food from mama so she will do this and throw up so they will eat. They had never seen people before, the poor little things were so scared. Now they are gorgeous beautiful healthy puppies waiting for their forever home. Mika is a wonderful mama who cared for the 7 of them - she is the example as how animals are just so wonderful in all ways -:) They have received all their 3 main core puppy vaccinations, dewormed, and spayed/neutered. Please open your home and hearts to these bundle of cuties:) Are you ready to give them a forever home? If so, Please text us at 619-576-0747 as 1st type of contact or email veronica.aaofusa@gmail.com or visit our website at www.aaofus.org and complete our application at the following link: http://aaofus.org/adoption-application.html . If approved, the adoption coordinator will reach out to you to schedule a Meet-and-Greet appointment. No appointments will be made unless we have received an application; therefore, we can match you with the best fit for you. Follow us on Instagram @aaofus where you can see more pics. Please allow 48 hours to process applications and respond back to set up appointments. Unfortunately, responses back to those who do not qualify are not possible due to high volume of applications. Donation Adoption fee includes up-to-date their 3 core puppy DHLPP vaccinations, spaying or neutering, deworming, flea medication, and a complementary health check up by a participating clinic near you. Please consider adopting one (or more!) of these fur babies! Due to high volume of calls; NO PHONE calls are accepted at this time - therefore, please text us or email us.- A minute of conscious - Please read:) We ask you Please to be SERIOUS adopters; as there have been so many people that are not ready. We set up meet & greet appointments, do a home visit or send them the address for some meet & greet locations, paperwork and suddenly they said they are not ready or spouse is not ready, etc. These fur kids have a very hard day the day of their appointment. Due to travelling we hold their food, so they won't get car sick. We bath them, some of them are schedule for grooming as you know it is stressful for them; then they have to travel with us picking up other rescued fur kids, and so on, it is a very stressful hard day for them for people to just cancel at last minute or not show up or do show up and just say they are not ready. Our time as well as your time is valuable. Please don't waste valuable time that is so precious for a rescued pet. Every single wasted time is a time that an animal will die because we didn't get to them on time to help them. In addition, of wasting gas and grooming fees which are paid by volunteers. Please take the time to put your shoes in the shoes of the volunteer and most of it to put your shoes on our rescued fur kids!! Please take a minute to tell yourself if you are ready to adopt and for this commitment. LIVE!! LOVE!! LAUGH!! ADOPT A RESCUED HOMELESS PET AND SAVE A LIFE!! #adoptme #puppySanDiego #rescuedpuppy #Bassethoundbeaglerescuedpuppy #labradormixedrescuedpuppy

Story
Tesha is a good dog but has a few issues.  Tesha is incontinent and is unable to control her bladder. She's about 3 years old and is a basset hound breed.  She can be aggressive with any other animals so it is best that she be in a home as an only animal in the home. She is blind in one and has chronic skin issues that will need attention daily. She can be very loving with certain individuals but does not like strange females as all. She has a fun black white and brown spotted coat. Her little tail always wags when she is happy.  She is a very loud barker but is able to be calm in the mornings but can bark at night a lot. She has been fixed and is up to date on all vaccines. We do not have a central location to see our dogs.  Meeting any dog is by appointment ONLY currently. Appointments can be set up to meet any dog in San Diego. Currently we are unable to do any out-of-state adoptions. If you are interested in a particular dog please FILL OUT an Adoption Application at our website @ http://bajadogrescue.org/ready-to-adopt/adopt and we can schedule you for an appointment to meet with a particular dog if it is available. We do require an application if you are interested in adoption.  If you are interested in potentially adopting please fill out an application at http://bajadogrescue.org/ready-to-adopt/adopt. Your application will be reviewed and you will be placed on a waiting list for the dog(s). If your name comes up on the waiting list(s) we will contact you. Story
LOWRIDER ALERT! Cricket is 49 lbs and approximately 14 months young.   Based on her short legs and her black muzzle, brindle coat and full sized body, we believe her to be a Basset Hound/Dutch Shepherd Mix.   Cricket is an all around great dog.   She loves people and dogs of all sizes.   She has a great personality, loves to go on walks as well as lounge.   She sleeps all night and is potty pad trained.   She still has that puppy personality and is just a goof!   She is not a barker!  Cricket would be great in a family with kids and or other dog friendly dogs.     Cricket is ready to make some family very happy. She is available for adoption now so if you would like to be making memories with this cutie, complete an application:   https://bit.ly/AdoptARFdog ##2246806##
