Story
Scooby is a handsome boy who is looking for a home of his own! Scooby is an active boy, but is currently being treats for heartworm which will require some extra support for the first few monthes settling home. He would prefer to be the only dog in the home, but that doesn`t mean he can`t have dog friends in the future! If you think this dog could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Boston Adoption Center. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm-3pm – no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available dogs. Preparing your home for your new dog or puppy ahead of time can help ease the transition for your new pet and set you both up for success should there be a dog that’s a good match! To learn more about how to make the first few weeks with your new dog or puppy the most successful it can be, please visit www.mspca.org/petresources. For more information on our adoption process, please visit https://www.mspca.org/adoption-centers/how-to-adopt/ Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they’re interested in - and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.

Story
Adoption Donation   $ 499    Located in: RI (Transportation costs to the Northeast included, please ask for more details) Approximately 3.5  years old as of 7/4/24 Weight: 21 pounds I’m a singular pup looking for a singular home without men or children. Smart and sweet in equal measure, sometimes my curiosity can get the best of me. All I really need is a loving family that can keep up with my boundless spirit. My favorite activities include running, playing with friends, exploring, and a good nap with my favorite chew toy. Harriet lived on the streets of a small town in Mississippi until she was trapped last summer. It's clear that humans have failed her and been unkind.  She has made strides in foster care, but has a ways to go when it comes to trusting humans. She comes up for pets more and more every day. Harriet needs a secure fenced yard as she is a flight risk.   Having said all this, Harriet is a good girl and gentle. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She’s also house trained, crate trained, utd on vetting, good with other dogs & cats. She’s silly, playful and a funny little girl. , Her adopter should be experienced with fearful dogs.    If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information:  foster.adopt.repeat.2021@gmail.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. FOHARI.ORG will provide the animal with the basic vaccines, heart worm test and sterilization of dogs and cats before adoption if the age and current health of the animal permits. While FOHARI.ORG makes every effort to place only healthy animals, FOHARI.ORG cannot guarantee the health of any animal, and shall not be held responsible for any medical expenses that may be incurred. Rescuer will provide information received from the veterinarian exam, observations on the temperament of the animal and a best guess of the breed. Friends of Homeless Animals Inc. Story
Meet Cashew Cashew’s mama was left behind when her family moved. Left in the yard of her “home.” She stayed in the yard according to the neighbors waiting for them to return. But they didn’t. She wasn’t spayed and got pregnant. Still, she waited with her babies in a drainpipe. We rescued them before the rains came. They would have drowned. To apply to adopt one of our dogs fill out our adoption application at this link: https://form.jotform.com/ChasingSunshine/Chasing-Sunshine-Adoption-App (Or copy/paste link into your browser) The Chasing Sunshine Dog Rescue adoption donation is $595.00. This includes: spay/neuter (at our vet), vaccines (dhpp, bordetella, rabies), microchip, health certificate, fecal test and our dogs are on preventatives for fleas/ticks/heartworm. Out of state adopters must also pay for an interstate health certificate to their state. (This is typically around $65.00. Adopter will pay actual cost.)
