Meet Chocolate Pie, a 3-year-old male Basenji mix with a fantastic blend of calmness and playfulness. This sunbathing expert is a major snuggle bug and absolutely adores spending time with people. He knows the "sit cue and enjoys playing with stuffy toys and balls, showing off his playful yet gentle side with his foster family's other dogs and children (ages 6-12). While he's not housetrained yet, he does go to the bathroom outside when taken, and his high food drive makes kitchen manners a work in progress. If he were taller, he might just be a countershark! Chocolate Pie isn't too fond of his crate, as he prefers to be close to his people, but will go in when necessary. On walks, he's relaxed and doesn't pull, and he's calm when meeting new dogs. Though not a big barker, he may vocalize in the crate or during energetic play with other dogs. He absolutely loves car rides, usually falling asleep quickly, and is the perfect laid-back companion at outings like kids' baseball games. Overall, Chocolate Pie has a wonderful personality, thriving on human connection and meeting new people. He's ready to bring lots of love, snuggles, and playfulness into his forever home! Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
