Bruce is a fun, energetic and charming 7 yr. old, 22 lb. Basenji/Terrier Mix who loves a game of fetch and squeaky toys. He already knows sit, stay, crawl, and come. He is very smart and easy to train when motivated by a treat. Bruce is outgoing and friendly with people, except when he forgets that it isn't his job to guard the home from strangers. He is working with a trainer on that issue and making great progress. He is a volunteer favorite because of his quirky, fun personality. He would do best as the only dog in a fairly quiet adult home with dog experience. Bruce was adopted 3 yrs ago and brought back due to an unexpected change in his family's living situation. He would be very grateful for a second chance. Bruce's Adoption fee is $300 and includes neuter, microchip and current vaccinations. We understand you are excited to adopt a new fur family rescue, however, we are a small rescue so please no calls. All the information we have for this animal is in this description please read the entire description. You must live within 1.5 hours of Vallejo. We do require a home check (no exceptions), We try to match each animal with the best fit for the animal.  Our adoption fees are not negotiable.  we do not have a facility we are foster-based and we are not a first come first serve rescue If you are interested in potentially adopting please review our adoption process (do not skip to the application without reading or we will reject your application) and application on our and criteria and if you wish to continue please complete our application on our website at www.gunterslegacy.org/adopt Josh would do better as an only dog. He came from a shelter they believed had been hit by a car he had a broken pelvis and injured leg, but we are fairly sure he was beaten. He was terrified of anything like a broom and pees and poops himself.  He's getting better every day. He needs a quiet home, cats are okay, but no male dogs. He can be a sweet boy but wants to trust but we can see it in his eyes as he sizes up every situation. He loves playing with the female dogs in his foster home and can spend hours outside just running and playing.  He weighs about 9 pounds, is microchipped and has been fully vaccinated. Neuter to be announced still recovering from a broken pelvis and injured leg. Please consider adopting a senior dog. They are passed over routinely in shelters and Chihuahua senior dogs who are black are then the number 2 breed most euthanized in shelters. Adopt don't shop! ##1371753##

❗Current location: in a foster home in South Korea❗ • Rescue Story: He was rescued from a high-kill shelter along with his brother in Jan 2023. While his lucky brother found his forever home soon after and has been happily living with his family, Saerom was relinquished twice by his first and second families unfortunately. His former families misunderstood his teething as biting and did not like his appearance. He may have been hurt by them, but is growing as a bright pup in his current foster for the past 10 months and has learned socialization to be ready to find his true forever family. We hope he won't get hurt by humans ever again! • 3 keywords: attached to his owner/ active/ smart • Affinity with - Dogs: Generally good around other dogs! He's been behaving at a dog swimming pool or a dog cafe. - Cats: He lived with a kitten once in the current foster home, and he ended up being sweet and taking care of it :) - Kids: When he was a puppy, he lived with two kids (one elementary schooler, one kindergartener) in his previous foster home and liked playing with them. • Housetrained: uses indoor pee-pads placed in a restroom! • Barks/Howls: Only barks at the doorbell sound. • Walking Manners: He tends to pull a little out of excitement at the beginning of a walk but paces with his walker later on. • Energy Level: mid-high since he is still young! • Appetite: He eats anything well! • Car Rides: He has felt slight car sickness for a long time over 20 minutes. (fine with subway) • Bathing/Teeth Brushing: Good with water itself, but not a fan of a dryer. / Likes doggy toothpaste! No problem with teeth brushing every night! • Likes: plush toys and dog chews! • Commands/Tricks: sit, paw, stay, eat (pound twice on the floor), down, and 'V' • Shedding: 2 during non-shedding seasons and 8 during shedding seasons

One day, she gave birth to a litter of several puppies, and sadly she lost most of her babies during labor as well as her own life. Milo was the only puppy who lived then and became a testament to the hope that can be found in an awful situation. He has been taken care of at the shelter since, looking for a loving forever home where he can grow and thrive. • Personality: Friendly, Active, Playful Milo is such a lovable pup who likes to play with people and doggos! He would be a great fit in a family that enjoys outdoor activities! • Affinity - With Cats: Not tested - With Dogs: Gets along with other dogs except for aggressive ones. - With Adults/Kids: Super sweet around people including men / not tested for kids • Walking Manner: In training. • Housetrained: He would use the bathroom outdoors if adopted. • Shedding: 5-7 • Food Allergies: No allergies found so far • Bath/Brushing: Tolerates both. • Separation Anxiety: None. • Bark or Howl: He doesn't bark unless he is left in a confined space. • Carsickness: Not experienced • Likes & Dislikes: He loves toys, treats, and people! / Not a fan of aggressive dogs.
