Bruce is a fun, energetic and charming 7 yr. old, 22 lb. Basenji/Terrier Mix who loves a game of fetch and squeaky toys. He already knows sit, stay, crawl, and come. He is very smart and easy to train when motivated by a treat. Bruce is outgoing and friendly with people, except when he forgets that it isn't his job to guard the home from strangers. He is working with a trainer on that issue and making great progress. He is a volunteer favorite because of his quirky, fun personality. He would do best as the only dog in a fairly quiet adult home with dog experience. Bruce was adopted 3 yrs ago and brought back due to an unexpected change in his family's living situation. He would be very grateful for a second chance. Bruce's Adoption fee is $300 and includes neuter, microchip and current vaccinations. Benji "Benny" was relinquished by his owners because of health issues. They just didn't feel they could give him the home he deserves. He is a sweet little guy. He is being fostered with several dogs, ranging from 7 lbs to 80 lbs. He has a lot of energy. He sleeps in a kennel at night. He stays in a kennel when the foster parents leave to run errands (same as the rest of the dogs in the house). He uses a doggy door to take care of business.

We understand you are excited to adopt a new fur family rescue, however, we are a small rescue so please no calls. All the information we have for this animal is in this description please read the entire description. If you want more information please email us at info@gunterslegacy.org and we will try to respond.  We do not adopt out-of-state. We do not adopt to homes with children under the age of 10 years old. You must live within 1.5 hours of Vallejo. We do require a home check (no exceptions), We try to match each animal with the best fit for the animal.  Our adoption fees are not negotiable.  we do not have a facility we are foster-based and we are not a first come first serve rescue If you are interested in potentially adopting please review our adoption process (do not skip to the application without reading or we will reject your application) and application on our and criteria and if you wish to continue please complete our application on our website at www.gunterslegacy.org/adopt Josh would do better as an only dog. He came from a shelter they believed had been hit by a car he had a broken pelvis and injured leg, but we are fairly sure he was beaten. He was terrified of anything like a broom and pees and poops himself.  He's getting better every day. He needs a quiet home, cats are okay, but no male dogs. He can be a sweet boy but wants to trust but we can see it in his eyes as he sizes up every situation. He loves playing with the female dogs in his foster home and can spend hours outside just running and playing.  He weighs about 9 pounds, is microchipped and has been fully vaccinated. Neuter to be announced still recovering from a broken pelvis and injured leg. Please consider adopting a senior dog. They are passed over routinely in shelters and Chihuahua senior dogs who are black are then the number 2 breed most euthanized in shelters. Adopt don't shop! ##1371753##
