Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dear Adopter,
My name is Jesse and I am a 3 year old yellow lab. Everyone tells me I am a big boy at 110 lbs, but I love to be with other dogs of all shapes and sizes.
You're not going to believe this but I was born with Grand River All Breed Rescue almost 3 years ago. That's right, my Mom Ruby gave birth to me and 12 brothers and sisters right in the home of one of the dedicated volunteer families. I was the largest of the litter. They took great care of us and we met many of the volunteers as they came to check in on us.
The time came and all of us were lucky enough to find furever families. Everyone including our Mom, Ruby. I have spent all my life in a loving home with my furry feline pal who liked to steal my bed. I pretended to fuss, but I really didn't mind. My Guardian Mom loves me very much but is no longer able to take care of me. I can get excited and pull on the leash when I am walking, and it was very hard for her to help me to get enough exercise. I did graduate from Level 1 obedience but still need a little work there I guess. My foster Mom is a Trainer and has promised to help me. She said I have wonderful house manners and my Chocolate Lab foster brother and I are very well behaved in the house. Number 1 house rule - No Playing in the house! (we are too big) We don't even have to go in a crate when she is not home. I have my own bed in her room where I curl up quietly at night. I know humans work hard and need their sleep.
My favorite activity is swimming and I can even jump off of the dock, but anything outdoors is great. Even the car ride to the swimming place is fun, but I might bark at other dogs I see on the trip. Foster Mom is going to help me to not be so excited when other dogs go by. She said "Barking at the window is not cool". She wasn"t angry but I know I need to try harder. When I am in the house, I like to have a bone or a kong to chew so I don't get bored. My furry foster brother has one too and we never fight over our treats or toys. There are plenty to go around. We never chew on anything except what we are given.
So you see, I am looking for a furever family to take care of me. My Foster family is great and I love them but they cannot keep me forever. They have many other dogs that need their help too. Talk to your family and see if you think they would like to meet me. I am handsome and smart and a well behaved pet.
Jesse is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue. His adoption donation is $375. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and heartworm tested as part of their adoption. Please fill out an application at our website
