Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hellooo, is anyone in here?
Oh hullo. My name's Trixie.
I'm all of 7 lbs. Which makes me portable.
Don't let the pictures fool you. I'm much cuter in real life.
I was found in front of a regional park. A woman saw me and could tell I was too standoffish to let her approach. So she opened her car door and walked away. It didn't take me long to jump in. She was sneaky!
At first I kept my distance in the car. But the moment the woman started it, I climbed right onto her lap.
I'm very well behaved, quite gentle, and a snuggler so everybody was expecting my family to claim me from Animal Control soon. But it's been over 2 months now and nobody did. So now I'm looking for a new family to love me.
I might be a little wary at first, but I promise I'll soon be your most devotedest little companion.
I'll cuddle with you and keep you warm.
I'll guard the laundry basket against sock thieves.
And always have your back.
I do dishes too.
I sometimes bark at strangers but I'm actually very submissive. You know how some chihuahuas have the reputation of being domineering and pushy? Not me.
I'm a softie and am on the timid side. I'm very responsive to voice correction. I walk politely on and off leash and ride well in the car. I'm crate-trained and house-trained, but may need a refresher course in my new home. Keep in mind that being such a small dog, I have a small bladder, and that means I have to potty every few hours.
They say Trix is for kids, but Trixie needs a home without small children. I wouldn't hurt them but small children and unexpected / quick movements make me nervous.
I'm pretty mellow. Maybe if there was another small dog around who was playful, I'd play too. I live with big dogs now and while I am fine with them, I don't interact much with them, except to snuggle.
We go for 2 half-hour walks a day. I mostly keep with the pack and stay close to the humans.
I'm a burrower. This is what ferret monkeys do.
At first I didn't like veggies, but now I snack on cooked green beans, broccoli and other produce. Because I'm so small, it's important to watch what you feed me because it doesn't take much to overdo it. I would do very well with formal training. Not only am I eager to please, it would help to continue to socialize me. And I'm very motivated by food.
They think I'm somewhere around 3-5 years old. I'm spayed, microchipped, and current on shots. I'm being fostered in ANTIOCH. There is a $250 tax-deductible adoption fee which helps to cover some of the medical expenses of the dogs in the rescue. If you are interested in adopting me, please send an email witbrescue(at)gmail.com to request an application. A homecheck will also be required to help ensure that I go to an environment best suited to me.
