My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Wheeler is our surprise girl. We just can’t believe how far this dog has come in the time since we first got her a couple of months ago. She was picked up by animal control as abandoned in Joe Wheeler State Park. When we took her into rescue this was a very timid, sick dog, covered in dried mud, and so skinny. We cleaned the caked mud off and found a dog underneath.

Quality food, proper veterinary care, heartworm treatment, and love have helped Wheeler transform. But most impressive is her personality change. She has become a happy, confident girl. Wheeler is smart, engaged, and eager to please. She is crate trained and walks well on a leash. This dog is young but gentle and easy to control. Her coat is still a bit rough, but given 6 months become beautiful and healthy – just like the rest of her.

This dog is spayed, up to date on shots and HW negative. Adoption application, home visit, and $300 adoption fee are required. Please read our adoption requirements on our home page.
