Here's what the humans have to say about me:
NOTE: This is a courtesy posting for another rescuer--Foundation for the Care of Indigent Animals (or FCIS). Please do not contact ARRF, as we do not know this pet personally. Be sure to contact the foster or organization directly from the information listed below.
Louie is an extremely handsome nine-year-old, 45-pound neutered male Belgian Shepherd/Chow mix who was relinquished to the Bonita animal shelter due to a minor skin infection that his owners could not afford to deal with. While awaiting adoption at the shelter, Louie rapidly began losing weight and was at great risk of euthanasia.
FCIA rescued Louie, and with the proper attention, love and diet, he has been able to gain weight and find happiness. He is a very affectionate dog with lots of energy! He gets along famously with other dogs. He would be best in a home without cats.
Louie is house trained and is very gentle in the house. He is looking for a loving home with tons of attention!
We suggest a home with children over the age of 10 for this dog. This dog cannot be adopted out of state. Please see our home page (go to http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/CA09.html) for a list of our Saturday adoption sites. Every potential adopter is required to fill out an adoption application and the dog is placed in the home that would be most suitable for the dog. We do not place our dogs in homes with unfenced swimming pools. Generally we don't release the dogs at the adoption site that day except on occasion to former adopters.
If you are interested in adopting Louie, please email FCIAnimals@yahoo.com.
