Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Molly is a 3-4 year old, chocolate Lab. It is assumed that she is the daughter of Daisy and has a great demeanor like her mom too. Her personality shines in so many ways. She is very innocent in nature with a la-de-da way about her. She is a cuddler and very baby like. She can be a little unsure of herself but has grown to realize her potential. It is presumed that she was used for breeding because she was unfamiliar with things that most dogs are introduced to. Molly has definitely come a long way from first entering a house needless to say. This being said she can be sassy at times which actually is a very cute trait, and clumsy. She can have a tendency to want to just laze around, to where it’s not like she doesn’t want to do something, but more like I’m not moving, i.e. like flopping on the ground so she doesn’t have to go outside. Molly loves laying on her back for most part. She’s a character and you will be chuckling at her ways.
Meeting other dogs is best off leash. She doesn’t take to meeting strange dogs while on walks, hence her not being sure of herself. Molly is great with other dogs. She does like to be in a busy environment to watch everything going on around her. She must find it stimulating from what she had before. I have had her around cats only on leash. She is curious but might have a tendency to chase. She loves toys and will hoard them together and carry one around in her mouth. Molly does have a habit of picking everything up like a baby and keeping them for herself. This means she will pick up shoes, towels, and objects low to the ground. She never chews, but instead wants to gather, like they are puppies.
Training is still needed during walks. Molly will want to run towards any moving object like cats, dogs, people and squirrels. If caught off guard she will pull free from your grasp. A standard length leash with Molly close to your side is the best method for her right now as she will want to go in every which direct because there is just so much to explore! So she will try to escape just wanting to see everything so badly but she is easily redirected with a vocalization command or just by saying “no”. Molly will learn that she cannot go on excursions on her own unless within a leashless dog park.
Molly is house trained and will go into a crate but for now she sleeps on a dog bed. She is fine to leave on her own and is not destructive. She is great with people including small children. Molly is both affection with adults and even little children. She is simply just a laid back girl waiting for her family to find her and give her the life that she has always deserved, with lots of love.
Molly is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue. Her adoption donation is $375. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and heartworm tested as part of their adoption. Please fill out an application at our website: www.grandriverallbreedrescue.ca.
