Here's what the humans have to say about me:
COURTESY LISTING - "MONTE" IS NOT IN FOSTER CARE WITH BAPBR AND WE MAKE NO GUARANTEES ABOUT HIS/HER HEALTH OR TEMPERAMENT. WE ARE PROVIDING A SERVICE TO HIS/HER OWNER TO HELP WITH RE-HOMING. PLEASE CONTACT "MONTE'S" OWNER DIRECTLY IF YOU'D LIKE TO MEET OR ADOPT HIM/HER.
Monte is a young male blue-and-white pit bull terrier type dog who is approximately 1 or 2 years old. He came to us from Cowlitz County Humane Society, where he was kennel-stressed from being caged far too long. Fortunately, he found a wonderful foster family who brought him home to recuperate and gain back the weight he lost in the shelter. These days, Monte is looking much healthier and is now ready for his forever home!
Monte is a sweet boy with a heart of gold. He is happy to meet new people, and will greet you with a simple wag of the tail and a head dip. He never jumps or gets overexcited. Monte’s foster home includes a 15 month-old toddler, and they get along just fine. However, Monte doesn’t seem to know his own strength at times, and could easily knock down a small child without realizing it, so supervision is required around young children.
Monte is good with other friendly dogs, both large and small. He does not get along with cats, and cannot be placed in a home with one. Monte will chase a cat and is very reactive to cat-like noises. In fact, this is the only thing that will excite Monte – he gets very upset when he hears a “meow” sound.
He is happiest relaxing indoors with his foster family, but Monte also loves going for walks, playing with toys, and chasing a ball outside in the yard. Monte is very food motivated and very smart, so he performs his tricks like “sit” and “stay” best if he knows a tasty morsel awaits him. He has a very gentle mouth when he takes treats, and will wait calmly until you give him one. Monte also loves car rides! He will snooze happily and keep the driver’s seat warm for you while you deposit a check or pick up a loaf of bread at the store.
This young gentleman is ready to shower his forever family with a lifetime of snuggly love. Could you be the companion he is looking for? If you’d like to meet Monte, please contact Courtney Brace by phone at 360-713-3780 or email courtneypillar@gmail.com. Monte’s adoption fee is $50, and includes neutering, microchip, and current vaccines.
