My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gigi was found running down the middle of Wrightsboro Rd in the dark. Scooped up by one of our volunteers, we had no luck finding the owners through the county shelter, online posts and flyers. She's now been fully vetted, spayed and had a good grooming (she was quite matted) so she'll be available for adoption once her spay heals (by Nov 14th). We have discovered that she's an escape artist, likely the way she ended up in the road....MUST have a securely fenced yard with no openings. She'll also bolt out the front door if you don't pick her up first or crate her. She is NOT house trained, so adopter needs to be willing to work on her training. She does crate well at night if the crate is in your bedroom (otherwise will bark some), but also loves to sleep in bed with you. Wonderful with all dogs and people, have not had her around cats yet but think she'd do okay. She's probably a Maltese or Maltese-mix (according to the groomer), weighs in around 11 lbs, and estimated to be 5-6 years old. She will need regular brushing and visits to the groomer, so please be aware of the added costs of this type of dog. Gigi does NOT like getting clipped or have her nails trimmed, so her haircut is somewhat uneven. However, she was fine for her bath and brushing we gave her. Gigi loves squeaky toys and treats, will 'sit' and 'down'. She gives great kisses, has loads of energy and just adores being petted and held.
