Here's what the humans have to say about me:
*Medical Hold - Ziggy is waiting for a spay and updated veterinary care*
Ziggy is a 2 year old pug mix, not sure what the mix is. She is a special and very sweet dog and in the morning wakes up ready to play. She will bring you a toy as if to say want to play with this one. If you ignore her she will go get another and bring it to you as if to say, well how about this one then. She loves to pay tug-of-war with you and learning to play with another dog. If you let go it turns into a brief game of keep –away. She is content to play by herself by getting every toy out of the toy box and scattering them about the house and playing with each for a short period of time. I think someone used a laser pointer as a play toy, as she will chase and get excited about any reflection on the walls, floor or ceiling and will chase the shadows of birds or insects that come across the patio.
She is very active but very cautious when meeting a new human or canine friend. She has been here about 2 weeks and is getting much better at mixing in and now tries very hard to get the other dogs to play and warms up to new people quicker than she once did.
She is very alert and smart. In the evening when she spots me brushing my teeth before bed, or putting another dog in a kennel, she will get into her kennel and wait for me to close the door. She also goes to her kennel if she sees you locking up other dogs prior to my going out for the day. She loves the doggie doors. She will go out one, run thru the yard and in the doggie door at the other end of the house and end up back in the room where she started. Her favorite resting place, while you are watching TV, is on the back of the couch so she can keep an eye on things but when tired will curl up next to you. She will get up on your lap but it takes some encouragement.
Ziggy is a sweet, fun dog to have around.
