My name is Ellie Mae, I have had a rough start to life and haven't properly been taken care of for 4 years! Before coming to Royalty Dog rescue, this was my life. A nice lady in PA rescued me off of Craigslist, I was living in WV in a trailer park with a couple who thought they were helping me but I needed more medical attention than they could ever afford. Prior to living with them I came from a deplorable situation covered in fleas, couldn't walk, had a large gash on my neck and sores on my bum. When my Dame in shining honor picked me up she knew I needed medical attention asap so she made me an appointment that day and I received all of my shots, was treated for fleas, and checked for heartworm and Lyme disease. (No heartworm or Lymes yay!) However, my gait is very wobbly and I fall over a lot when I walk. My Dame sent me to Royalty Dog Rescue because she wanted to make sure I am safe and she loved me a lot. I have seen the Royal vet here, and my X-rays show that my spine is curvy, so that is why I walk funny! But, I do not let that slow me down. I love to play with squeaky toys, snuggle and I love going for walks now, because my foster Mom is helping to build my strength. I am such a sweet girl, but I need to be the only dog in the house because I like all the attention for myself. I have been spayed, and I am hoping that someone see’s past my “special need” because to me, it’s not a special need, it is just me, Ellie Mae!
