World Meet Heather!
Heather loves to be the center of attention—can you make her your star?
This beautiful brindle girl appears to be about 4 years old, about 75 pounds, and is full of sweet affections to shower on her people.
Heather is a mature, but active, just-plain-easy girl, looking for her forever family. This exceptionally nice gal hasn’t had the best luck in life—she’s been stuck at the rural Del Norte County Shelter in Crescent City, CA (on the OR/CA coast border). Where there is low foot traffic and odd adoption viewing hours, which has kept Heather waiting at the shelter for over 12 months (356 days!!!) for her perfect person to come and take her home.
Heather has a great personality, full of life, silly and always in a good mood – she’d make your morning coffee if she had opposable thumbs. Heather comes with some other great attributes too -- She will do anything for a treat, so she will love to continue her training education—she thinks learning is fun and delicious!
Heather loves the great outdoors – daily walks are her favorite thing to do while passing time at the shelter and would love to be someone’s exercise partner. Love to hike? Funny--so does Heather! She also loves her ball and would be easily satisfied with some ball chasing/fetching. Afterward, she’d love nothing better than to snuggle with her people and rest up. She’s of medium energy level so she’s pretty mellow after her daily exercise.
Heather is fun and people-oriented, has had her initial vaccines and is spayed. Because of her size and playfulness (adult only home, please – she’s a bit too excitable for young kids).
Heather is mainly disinterested in other dogs, but we feel she’ll do best in a home with no other dogs or cats to be set up for success. Interested in making Heather your doggie daughter? If you would like to become Heather’s forever family to show her all the fun things in life, and take away all her worries, we want to hear from you!
Del Norte County Animal Control is located in rural Crescent City, CA (a tiny coastal city on the OR/CA border). We have a very small shelter with small indoor 3x6 kennel runs, low foot traffic, odd adoption hours and it rains a lot which means the dogs can’t come outside and play. Please consider making a difference in a dog’s life and adopt from our shelter!
We are open Monday – Friday from 8am to 5pm.
We are closed Saturday and Sunday.
