My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

September 23, 2013

Hi! It’s me, Mia – life is good here at my foster home.
Every morning I wake my foster parents with a lick and then run and get my tennis ball to offer them an extra special “good morning” from me!!
More and more, they are asking me to “wait” before they throw it ...
I actually have to sit there until they say “okay” – every muscle in my body wants to run and get that ball, but I don’t like disappointing them so I wait – they tell me I’m a good girl.

More and more, I come to them without my tennis ball – they seem especially affectionate then, I’m beginning to suspect they have something against tennis balls ... hmmm?
Anyways, I like being petted, so I come sit by them without my tennis ball – I’m not stupid, it feels good to have your belly rubbed and your ears scratched.

We have a busy house here, lots of people come in and out – I really like meeting new people and try to always greet them nicely, no jumping, no nudging hands (sometimes I forget that one),
but I always bring them a gift – you guessed it, a tennis ball.
Mom says people love me, they love how smart I am, and how I like to be by them and get their attention.
Mom’s trying to teach the new people not to throw the ball for me – thankfully they are slow learners.

Walks are my favorite – there are two French bull terriers I get to see every morning.
I get so excited that I forget I’m not supposed to pull on my leash – they are just so cute and small and they don’t bark at us.
Once Mom says “that’s enough Mia” I can usually stop – she says I’m a good girl.

My foster brother Dodger is teaching me to play chase, I only play sometimes because it makes him so happy –
I haven’t quite figured out why he wants to play this game – I’m much faster than he is!

Did I tell you they have kids here too – I like the kids.
Mom and I take them to school every morning, but they come home every afternoon and play with me –
the girls tell me I’m quite pretty and sweet – I like being pampered by them.

Mom says I’m a great girl and tells me I’ll find a loving and active new home soon.
If you live at that house and would like to play with me, send my Mom an email – we can’t wait to meet you!
