Hello there! My name is Sulley which means ‘keen eye’ in Irish. I’m a Southern boy who’s always keeping watch. I had a broken toe and was scheduled to be euthanized. In fact, I was rescued in the nick of time. I was on my way to meet my Maker when a lifeline came through. As I understand, the lady at the shelter who took the call came a-running to stop everything. Thanks to Denise and the wonderful fine folks at Fighting for Dawn, me and other critters get a second chance at life. It’s called RESCUE and you have to experience it to know what it means.
I’m currently living with my foster mom and dad. My foster mom saw me on the Facebook and said there was somethingspecial ‘bout me. They’ve been helping me on my manners, giving me a real fine education, and I’m proud to say I’m getting there. In just ten days I’ve learned “tee tee”, “sit” and “down”.When you’re running for your life it’s hard to slow-down, but now that I’m rescued and safe, I’m learning to relax.
I’m told I’m really smart and super cute. I’m about 10-months old and weigh around 30-pounds. I have a big personality, lots of love and want so badly to please. I like to give sloppy kisses, run and wrestle. Right now I live with two cats and a dog. I’m more curious about the cats than they are me. Flannery the dog, I call her big sis, is a Catahoula, and we love to play with toys, run and wrestle. Sometimes we do it so much that I get to thinking I’m a Cata-ma-whatcha-call-it. She’s a rescue too, and she knows what it’s like. Flannery is good company and she teaches me a lot. We go for walks and visit the dog park. My foster mom patiently helps me with my walking. Big Daddy says, “I has swagger!”
I love to ride. Me, Flannery and Big Daddy ride around listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd. I’m so Southern I can even howl. Big Daddy says he thinks I’ve got a touch of the terrier and a hunk of hound. I really, really want to please and belong. I need to be needed and want to be loved, as well as have someone to love. I have a lot to give and want a home to give it to. You just don’t know what it’s like to not be wanted. Rescue reminds guys like me that we have a purpose.
