Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Marie, a Turnkey Tuxedo Cat!
Marie was pregnant and about to give birth when she was rescued by a caring person at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado (NAB Coronado).
She was brought to the Coronado Animal Care Facility where she gave birth to six gorgeous kittens. Marie and her brood – girls Jubilee, Karma and Pixie and boys Bishop, Husk and Magento – were quickly enrolled in our Itty Bitty Kitty Program and transferred to a foster home until they were all ready for adoption.
Marie was just about a year old – a kitten having kittens. But that didn’t stop her from being a good momma cat. She was attentive, loving and patient and gave her kittens all of the skills and lessons a good mom should – an illustration of her wonderful nature.
Marie has been an extremely social cat from the start, so it is believed that she once lived in a home. She is a gentle loving cat who looks everyone right in the eye and asks them to spend time with her. This pretty Tuxedo girl is graceful and willowy as she sashays around a room.
Her former foster mom says that Marie was quick to learn the way of her foster home, places she was allowed to go, things she should stay away from, etc..
She adds:
"Marie is a very talkative, brave and curious feline. She is constantly looking for adventure, whether it's outside the window or under the couch.
She is always ready to be petted, no matter who stops by for a visit. She will readily greet you at the door after a long day at work and flop on her back for some much need belly rubs and a chat (although mostly meows).
Marie isn't a very needy cat, understanding that time alone is just as good as naps together on the couch."
Her foster mom says that she has spoiled her a little bit, letting her drink out of the bathroom sink, but she is quick to learn the rules of the house once they are put in place.
Marie is a friendly, independent, and playful kitty, ready to find her forever home! Is this well rounded Tuxedo girl the cat you are looking for?
You can meet Marie at the Coronado Animal Care Facility any day between 9:00am and 4:00pm (except holidays). The Coronado Animal Care Facility is located at 1395 First Street at the south end of the Ferry Landing complex.
If you are interested in adopting Marie, you must first complete a Cat Adoption Application and meet with a PAWS of Coronado Cat Adoption Counselor. You may complete our online Cat Adoption Application.
