Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Courtesy Posting for The Way Home Rescue Alliance ~
We are pleased to introduce Rio! Rio is female Rottweiler/husky mix, about 65 pounds, 2 years old. Rio came to The Way Home Rescue Alliance through a high intake/high kill shelter in Eastern rural KY where she was slated for euthanasia. One of the last dogs without rescue, we opted to pull her and save her life.
Rio became one of our favorite girls very quickly! She is an extremely affectionate dog. She craves human attention and interaction and thrives on it. Rio has a happy go lucky type of personality and she is always looking to make a new friend! She is outgoing, playful and fun-loving, with a medium energy level.
Rio has proven to be very intelligent too! She is now in obedience training and has already mastered the commands ‘sit’, ‘heel’ and ‘down’ in a very short period of time. We have learned that Rio is the type of girl that aims to please..it makes her happy to make you happy! Due to her intelligence, Rio is a dog that enjoys activity and being not only physically stimulated with exercise, but also mentally stimulated. Whether that be a game of fetch, learning a trick or command, or going to new places, Rio is content as long as she’s with you! Rio is crate trained, house broken, and walks very well on leash.
Rio has been fully vaccinated, defleaed, dewormed, spayed and microchipped, and is current on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. Rio’s adoption donation is $125, which will help defray the cost of his basic vetting. For more information on beautiful Rio, or for an adoption application, please email sarahthewayhome@gmail.com . Thank you for considering a rescue dog like Rio!
