My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Update on Bertha! This is what her foster mom has to say about her: "Bertha is crate trained (and doing so much better for long periods in her crate) she is house trained...no accidents in quite a while!
She gets along with all her house mates, dogs, cats, cows, and human kids. (free range chickens, probably not a good idea...she hasn't caught our guinea yet, but she definitely tries). She loves to go on romps in the woods, and stays right with us, no leash. She also walks great on the leash and loves to go to the park, but she is just as happy lounging in the house while I work.
I think she has some pointer or some kind of hunting hound in her. She will completely freeze if there's a rabbit or mouse in the grass and wait - then pounce.
She is the sweetest, easiest going girl."

Say hello to Bertha!

Bertha (Affectionately called Bert) and her 7 siblings had a very eventful first 8 weeks of their little lives. Born to a stray mama, they were raised under a log until a good Samaritan notified The Fort, who promptly went and picked them up at only 4 weeks of age. They were loaded with worms and in very poor nutritional status, not to mention covered from head to toe in ticks. We can't believe their mom, Beatrice (Also for adoption), kept them in as good shape as she did - such a good mama! When they were finally becoming healthy, happy puppies...they all got parvo. Two weeks of intensive care and after a few close calls, all of our little fighters made it! They are all now truly happy, spry little puppies!

Bertha is one of the most intelligent of the bunch. While most puppies are in a frenzy to get attention, Bertha will sit back and curiously watch you until you give her attention. She is very loving, though still a puppy and loves to play!

Bertha is now 5 months old, has received all of her vaccinations and is scheduled for a spay and microchip.
