Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi Everyone! My name is Norman. I am a 2 1/2-to-3-year-old blue Great Dane with natural ears and I am a fun-loving guy! I get along great with my foster brother and sister, who are both Mastiffs. I am very interested in the cats that live in my foster home but they are not nearly as interested in me, and I don't push the issue. I have an unusually large tongue, but this just adds to my already awesome character! I get along great with all of the humans in my foster home, big and small. When my family is home, I want nothing more than to be with them, but I love my crate, and can amuse myself when I'm alone. I am sometimes a sloppy eater but I will always go back and get everything I missed on my first attempt! I pull slightly on the leash when on my walks, but once you say my name, I come right back to your side! I was dropped off at the local animal shelter in rather awful shape, but our vet and my foster parents are fixing that. I had a respiratory infection, major dental issues, and I was severely underweight because my mouth was too sore to eat. But none of that is slowing me down! I have recovered from the respiratory infection, and have a dental appointment next, but I will soon be ready to go to my forever home. I will make a great addition to any family! Norman is currently on medical hold, but as soon as he is fully healthy, he will be looking for a medium-to-high activity home, with or without other dogs, where he can get a lot of love and affection.
Update 11/15/13 - Norman's dental surgery went great, and he has been given a clean bill of health. He can now eat without pain and is starting to gain weight. His coat looks better already. His energy level is definitely picking up. He has a lot of pent-up puppyness in him! He's playful, and is starting to test boundaries a bit, but he minds his manners as long as he knows he has to. He's a big love-bug and is looking for an active family of his own.
