Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Little Miss Abby found her way to the Coronado Animal Care Facility after frolicking along the streets all on her own.
This girl is full of energy and right now is just all "puppy". Abby is as smart as a whip and in just a short week in her foster home with clicker training, she has progressed from knowing "sit" to also knowing how to play fetch with the commands "come" and "drop" and is also learning how to "stay". She is currently teething and loves playing tug with a rope or chewing on a puppy sized rawhide. She also likes digging in the sand at the dog beach. Abby rides well in a car and even kept up during a three mile hike.
She is incredibly trainable and is quickly learning her manners while walking on a leash and is already crate trained. She is also becoming house trained as she grows accustomed to her foster home.
Abby has a very curious spirit but doesn't bark at loud noises – the low flying planes and traffic don’t phase her a bit. She is very sweet with everyone, young and old and in between! She is polite with other dogs and is learning to not bark back at dogs that bark at her.
She is very strong willed and would do best in an active home with a family that can devote time to her. She would also benefit from a mature canine companion who can “show her the ropes” and a consistent lifestyle that could keep her mentally stimulated.
If you need a canine pal to add some energy and new joy to your life, Abby is your girl. Take the time to meet her soon!
You can arrange to meet Abby by calling Karen, a dog adoption counselor at 619-437-0220.
If you are interested in adopting Abby, you must first complete a dog adoption application and meet with a PAWS of Coronado Dog Adoption Counselor.
