FOSTER HOME NEEDED!
09/06/13: Webster Has Obviously Had A Hard Life
Webster is a sad looking boy who was picked up as a stray in a rural area. He has obviously had a very hard life as you can see by the photos. Due to his poor physical condition, Animal Control took him to the vet where he was diagnosed with Demodectic Mange (which is not contagious). He also has a secondary skin infection that has affected his eyes. This sweet gentle boy is estimated to be a year old or younger and is underweight at 35 lbs.
When we first saw the plea to help Webster, we were drawn to him. Although he was outside our usual working area, we inquired about him to make sure he would be safe. As soon as we heard that no other Rescue had an interest to take Webster, we put the gears in motion to get him help. With the wonderful assistance of several kind people (Thank You to Parker, Martha, Rachel and especially Jackie), Webster has been transferred out of the shelter and is safe in a short term foster home. We will be scheduling another appointment with a vet to evaluate his condition and get medication to treat the mange and skin infection. He will also need neuter surgery when the vet says it is OK.
So far we have been told that Webster is very good around cats and gets along great with other dogs, small or large. He is very sweet and has no aggression. Walks well on a lead. Enjoys a tender touch, and likes to play with toys. We are scheduling a transport to our area for September 14. We will need a foster home for Webster when he arrives, so please consider taking him into your home while he recovers.
