My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

5/7/14: Foster home found - Please consider adopting this great guy!

4/14/14: PLEASE Foster or Adopt Stitch

He must be moved by this weekend.

Stitch is in desperate need of a new home…temporary foster or permanent adoption. His current foster dad is scheduled for surgery on his back and will not be able to care for him any longer. The home is in the city and there is no yard so Stitch needs to be walked on a leash which will be impossible after the back surgery.

Stitch would do best in a home with a fenced yard and no cats.

Foster update is below:

“Stitch has been with our family for the past 4+ months and has been an excellent house guest. He is housebroken as well as crate trained. He is friendly and playful with everyone he meets. He understands many basic commands (sit, stay, come, lay down).

Stitch gets along well with his foster sister but doesn't like being barked at by dogs in the street. He likes to take walks and loves to play co-pilot on car rides. All in all Stitch would make an awesome pet for any family with children 12 and above. His greetings are too exuberant for young children.

Unfortunately I am not able to keep Stitch only because of my worsening health. I have attached some photos of Stitch which I'm sure will make you fall in love with him.”

10/31/13: Urgent - Foster Home Needed

Stitch Hospitalized – He Gave Us Quite The Scare
Stitch has been in the hospital for the last week for food bloat. We received a call from the boarding kennel where we have been keeping Stitch saying that he was not feeling well. He had vomited and was very lethargic. We immediately made arrangements to take him to the vet.

The doctor’s exam revealed that Stitch had a body temperature of 97 (normal average is 101) and that his stomach was distended and hard. Stitch was hospitalized and placed on warming pads and given a series of radiographs. The x-rays showed that his stomach and intestines were impacted with food which was not digesting for some reason.

It has been a grueling week for Stitch and he is finally almost back to normal after a series of treatments and IV fluids. His digestive system seems to be working but they want to keep him at the hospital for another few days to make sure that there will not be a problem. His body temperature is still fluctuating but the doctor thinks it is most likely because his body fat is too low. He currently weighs 37 lbs. and should be around 50 lbs.

Blood tests also revealed that Stitch has an active Lyme disease infection. Although he does not have any symptoms, he is receiving antibiotic treatment. We do not have an available foster home that can take Stitch and returning him to the boarding kennel will not be good for him.
We are desperate to find a suitable foster home for Stitch so please consider helping. Stitch has been good with other dogs and people but he appears not to be as friendly to cats. Stitch Needs Your Help!

09/28/13: We Did Not Procrastinate When Asked To Save Stitch

Stitch was running out of time at a shelter that was at full capacity. We were receiving pleas to help a list of dogs who were on the desperate list. We took one look at his amazingly cute and mischievous little face and we knew we were hooked. We did not hesitate to save him together with another dog named Panda and took both of them into our Rescue program.

Sad to say that we have no available foster homes for Stitch and our only option was to place him in a boarding kennel where we still have several other dogs waiting for a foster or adoptive home. All of the dogs we have in boarding are desperate to be in a loving home so please consider taking Stitch or one of the other dogs home. Stitch is an adorable little guy with a face that will keep you smiling and make your heart melt. He is super sweet and is looking for a home to include him in the fun. Stitch seems to get along with other dogs ; Panda and Stitch hit it off when they met. This boy is all wiggles and would love a family to call his own. He has spent the last 6 months in a shelter setting.

We are BEGGING for your assistance with all of these dogs. We have been overwhelmed with requests to help dogs and we will not able to help others if we can not find homes for the dogs we already have in our program. Taking more dogs into our Rescue at this point would not be doing the dogs' justice. We are committed to the dogs in our care but we can not do this work alone.
