Our Terrific TOBY!
Toby is an 80 lb. purebred, 2 yr. old Labrador Retriever who is truly a ‘gentle giant.’ Well-mannered, enthusiastic, great-with-kids, we’ll let Toby tell you about himself in his own words:
Hey everyone! I'm Toby, & I'd like to be your best friend.
Got kids? Will they throw me a ball?! I love kids. They can lay on me & hang on me. This just makes me grin! I know I've got to be gentle with them, but I'm big & strong enough to put up with them being a little rough with me. I've played with kids as young as five years old & really had fun. They'll throw my ball & giggle when I chase it for them, right? Where's my ball? I gotta get my ball! And squeakers??? COOL!!
I have a lot of fun when I'm running outside, but unlike other black labs you may have known, I'm one calm, relaxed fella. I'm happy to sit at your feet, or even next to you on the couch, if you'll let me & we’ll watch some TV. At commercial breaks, you can scratch my ears. I'll be affectionate & cuddle up near you, but I've learned that most people don't want me licking them, so I don't do that much. I even know that if I see someone outside that isn't supposed to be there, one or two barks is enough to let you know. I don't keep going on & on about it. You're smart too, right? You’ll catch on.
Got cats? I don't care, as long as they don't mind playing hide-n-seek with me sometimes. If there’s a cat hiding around the corner, I just have to show you.
I just need a yard, a friend, a smile & a forever home. I even come with my own ball so we can start playing together right away.
