Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jane is a Harlequin Dane with natural ears who is as regal as she is sweet and gentle. She was pulled along with 27 other dogs from a neglect case last year, and was never socialized with humans. As a result, she is initially timid and often takes some time to warm-up.
Jane’s age is estimated to be approx 3 years old and she weighs roughly 130 pounds. She was treated successfully for heartworms last year and shows no ill effects. In other words, she’s a trooper, and has maintained her grateful and docile demeanor throughout her previous health issues and medical procedures. Jane is not food-driven, and originally would only feel comfortable eating in her crate at night. However, she now eats with her foster sibling without difficulty. She does very well with other dogs and seems to draw some comfort from them.
Jane travels well and is completely crate-trained. She hasn’t had the opportunity to learn basic commands as of yet, but all indications point to the fact that she would be a quick learner. And she would probably be happiest in a forever home with female owners and other pets, although she could very well warm-up to a male if he was very patient and prepared for a lengthy acclimation period.
In short, Jane is a gem. She has a tremendous amount of love and gratitude she would love to share with the right family. She is nothing short of an inspiration. She has made the best out of what life has handed her and is slowly learning that she can trust and love again. Any family would be lucky to have her.
If you have questions about our adoption policies and procedures, please go to our website at www.peacefulpawsrescue.org. Our adoption application is on our website as well. We are not a shelter and do not have a facility. You will not be able to meet any of our foster dogs until you've completed an application.
