Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Newt was found sleeping in the road by one of the shelter workers. She brought him into the shelter to keep him safe from traffic. This little guy is only about 2 yrs old but unfortunately, he already has heartworms. Thankfully, this is a treatable condition, and Newt has been given a chance at a new life and happiness. This little guy is a medium sized Beagle who is good on a leash and well mannered. He is going to make some lucky person a great dog.
Come meet this cute baby in the fur at the Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303 (only one hour south of Charlotte, NC) or call (864) 583-4805 to inquire. This is a family friendly facility with an indoor visitation room as well as an outdoor play area. All the dogs are inside, with heat and air conditioning, and have their own private kennel. The shelter’s visitation hours are 11AM until 6 PM Monday through Friday and 11AM until 5 PM Saturday and Sunday.
Newt’s adoption fee is $85 which includes his neuter surgery, Rabies, Distemper/Parvo & Bordetella (Kennel Cough) vaccinations, HW testing, worming, a 24PetWatch microchip, a free follow-up wellness checkup at the shelter's clinic, as well as 1 month of free pet insurance with PetHealth Services, Inc.
Since Newt is Heartworm POSITIVE, there will be a treatment fee added to his regular adoption fee. (Approximately $200) He will be treated for his heartworms at the shelter clinic. This is an overnight procedure only, and he can return home the following day. Even if you can’t adopt Newt, you can subsidize his HW treatment. This shelter has an “Angel Fund” setup to accept funds designated for this purpose. Contact SHS at 864-583-4805 for more information.
