Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Atkin is a 1 year old male e-locus yellow merle available for adoption in Savannah, Georgia.
The best way to describe him is FUN!
He’s a sweet, silly, playful, rambunctious teenager weighing 40 pounds with an adorable natural bobtail.
Atkin is a blank slate with an incredible amount of potential. He’s intelligent, trusting, social, eager to please and highly food motivated. He is also very, VERY fast.
He’s got a few tricks up his sleeve! Atkin is housebroken, crate trained and non-destructive. He does not bark or jump excessively…Unless you have a treat! Then he’ll be ready to show you his “sit”, “shake” and “lie down”.
Atkin is more than willing to learn. Right now he’s working on becoming a little bit more thoughtful by focusing on hand signals.
Atkin does his best to memorize any routine involving treats, but that pesky foster mom of his keeps switching it up! :)
He believes every dog wants to play and play HARD. With help from his foster brothers, Atkin is learning how to greet new dogs more appropriately. His favorite way tends to be over the top. He rushes with a bark and typically gives a little nip before herding. To Atkin, this is just a way to initiate play. Another dog may think the opposite. Luckily he’s a pretty respectful and non-reactive boy who chooses to just walk away and come up with a different strategy.
This is one happy dog who loves life! Atkin is loving, affectionate, and always ready for cuddles no matter who they’re from. We believe he’ll do best in a moderately active cat-free household complete with an equally goofy Aussie sibling and a fenced back yard.
