Foster Location: Kaysville, Utah
This gorgeous boy is Minion. He is a miniature dachshund, about 8 years old. He was found running loose on the streets in Utah when Animal Control picked him up and no one came to claim him. Fuzzy Pawz took him into their foster program after the shelter asked for help getting him OUT of the shelter. He wasn't doing very good, he was so sad in there and his teeth so rotten that he couldn't eat or drink much. Once he was home, he became a totally different dog! We went from guessing that he was 10-12 y/o, to guessing 7 or 8 within the first few hours! We just had his teeth cleaned and sadly they had to take half of them out. Most of them were infected, even up into his sinus'. Soon he will feel better than he has in a long time though!
Minion is one of the sweetest little guys around! He is good with my three large dogs and my three children! He is not however good with cats. He likes to harass them by barking and circling them. Also he is not good with chickens. He thinks they look like a tasty snack! He is starting to listen when told no or to leave it, but I think he'd do best in a home without cats or chickens.
We gave him the name Minion because A) We have children who help name our fosters! (Despicable Me)! and B) He wants to be right there helping you with everything you do! He just wants to make you happy and be happy himself!

Snuggling and car rides are this guys two FAVORITE things! He likes to get up under the covers with you and will stay there all night! If this doesn't work for you, I don't think Minion will either! As you can see in some of the photo's, Minion has had some sort of accident in his past. He has big scars on the tops of his ears and all the way down his back to the tip of his tail. The vet guessed burns of some sort. Some of the hair grew back white and some spots no hair at all grew back. This hasn't affected him poorly, he doesn't mind being examined or petted so I think he's not traumatized by it.
Minion is housetrained and great at using the doggy door. He walks pretty good on a leash and doesn't bolt if he accidentally gets out the front door, however he will wander away if not asked to come back. He may need sunscreen on his bald spots when he will be in the sun for long periods of time, but otherwise he is pretty low maintenance!
