Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
ADOPTED!
---------------
Tux has been adopted! Tux is a handsome Manx cat with lovely white whiskers, approx 1 1/2 years old.
He's a friendly boy on his own terms (ah...such a CAT!!), but prefers to hang around you instead of being picked up. He follows his foster "mom and dad" around outside, and isn't bothered by much...doesn't even mind the lawnmower. He has not been around young children, and he once scratched and ran away from someone who grabbed him (poor Tux!), so he would likely be better in a home with older (teenage) kids or an adult home.
Tux met his foster family's cat and quite liked him, so it's likely he would like a home with another cat. As his foster family doesn't have a dog, it's unknown what he thinks of canines.
Tux was a stray, and although the people who found him knew they couldn't keep him, they had him neutered, vaccinated and tested for all sorts of diseases (including FIV)...they initially spent over $600 in vet bills to ensure he was healthy!
Although he's an otherwise very healthy boy, it was found Tux has diabetes. At first he was taking pills, but the pills didn't regulate his blood sugar enough, so now he is getting injections which he accepts without a problem. He only needs his insulin shot once a day, and the vet said there is a possibility he may be able to discontinue injections in the future.
There is no adoption fee, but a home visit to see where he will be living is mandatory.
Tux is currently living in Port Alberni, so you'd need to drive there to meet him.
If you think you'd be a good match for Tux, please contact us, and we'll put you in touch with the couple who are fostering him so they can tell you all about him!
PLEASE share Tux's bio. He's a nice cat, and just needs to find someone who realises he is TOTALLY worth the effort to give him his insulin injections!
Tux has been adopted!
