Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Blankie was a shelter dog who was in the NYC shelter system. He came from a family who had his owner pass away. Sadly there was no family member who stepped up and took Blankie in with them. Blankie is about 5 1/2 pounds of absolute sweetness. I have to admit that I am one of those who was not a Chihuahua fan but between one of our others and Blankie that is now a thing of the past. Blankie takes to everyone he meets. He is free with kisses and snuggles. His temperament is very consistent and that is his best attribute. He was and is thin from when we got him. He came with very few teeth but as of this past week he now has none. Don't feel bad for him as he eats soft food or dry food which has been sufficiently soaked with water or a combo of both. He loves other dogs and all people. He is good with children but we will warn you that his size make us cautious to adopt him with young children living at home. His bones are tiny and a bone break from a drop could easily happen. We need an adopter who is 21 or older. We prefer someone who is not out too many hours in a day. A few hours a day at home alone is fine on a daily basis but if there is split shift working or stay at home person that it the best. He will hide in a sling or carrier and be a quiet mouse and go everywhere with you. He has gone to stores, places to dine and others and just sleeps or observes. He was said to be really old at the shelter but he appears and our vet says 10 maximum. We may even think younger. He plays with other dogs and will be the love of your life. Contact us for an application. Be local to Long Island please. Vet reference (if available) personal references mandatory and home visit mandatory as well. Adoption fee applies which is determined by age of animal and/or special needs. Micro-chipped, upt to date on immunizations, heartworm tested and started on preventative, housebroken too. More info when you contact us. He is in Nassau County Long Island and you should be local to us. We cannot do home inspections too far from home. An hour or so is ok but further and we will need a rescue friend to assist us. We do not know if he is good with cats. If need be we can bring him by you to find out.
