Every dog needs a job to really feel important & useful in the world. Sam's job is 'Paper Fetcher.' Every morning, after 'doing his potty business,' Sam's guardian says, 'Paper!' & Sam goes out to fetch it. Sometimes, Sam will also fetch the neighbor's paper too. Talk about enthusiasm for one's work!
Obviously, if he's a paper retriever, it should come as little surprise that Sam likes to play 'go catch the ball.' One way to wear him out is with a vigorous game of 'throw & catch.' What a terrific pasttime this could be for Sam & kids! Any budding pitchers out there???
Sam is fed twice a day on a regular schedule & has never been known to beg. Those who have had dogs in their lives who try to use Jedi Mind Control to get humans to drop food will appreciate Sam's good manners in this arena. A further feather in his cap is that he can 'Sit' on command.
Sam's guardian is a retired person now faced with caring for an elderly parent as well as a newborn grandchild. Finding time in all this care-giving to also properly meet a dog's needs has become overwhelming. Sam's guardian would feel better if he had the love & moreso time and attention of a family that didn't have the time constraints she faces.
Sam is neutered & up to date on shots. He resides in the Cincinnati area.
As a Labradoodle, Sam will require regular grooming & daily exercise. He could also use additional training to keep him from getting bored & into mischief. His last grooming date was October.
If you are interested in Sam, please send an email telling Underdogs a little bit about your situation (who is in household both human(s) & pets, why a Labradoodle? etc.) If it sounds like it might be a good fit, we will ask you to fill out an application.
