Hi Friends! My name is Stella. I am about 8 years young and came to IEBR under some sad circumstances. You see, I was found tied to a tree in a park. I had been abandoned there and I was very lonely, confused, and sad. While I was tied to the tree, I was attacked by an animal and couldn't even defend myself. It was so scary. Finally my luck changed, though, and I was rescued by IEBR. Now I am safe, loved, happy, and will never EVER be abandoned again.
I love my foster home. I live there with 4 other bulldogs. I get along great with them all, male and female. I am a bit needy because of my past, but this only means that I starve attention and reassurance that I'm a good girl. I love my humans SO much and all I want is to spend time with them, be near them as much as possible, and to please them. My foster mom calls me her shadow. I take that role very seriously! Always on duty!!!
I am part English Bulldog, but I'm also mixed with another breed. We don't know what that other breed is, but my foster family tells me it makes me extra special and unique! I am pretty low to the ground like a bullie with short legs, and I weigh 64#. I have a big head and I even have a snout, unlike my purebred foster siblings. Because of my mixed breed, I don't have the common health problems English Bulldogs tend to have. I breathe great, don't have skin folds and wrinkles that require maintenance, and my mobility is good. In fact, I don't have any of the typical bulldog issues or any chronic health concerns! I'm a lucky girl!
I do have one health concern at the present time that we are trying to get figured out. I have some mammary tumors. About 50% of mammary tumors are cancerous and 50% are benign. We are hoping and praying, of course, for benign results! I have a lumpectomy next week to determine whether they are cancerous. Please cross your fingers and paws for me.
Now for a bit more about my personality. My foster family absolutely adores me. They say I am seriously the sweetest and gentlest girl ever. I am very calm and love to sleep most of the day and night, but I also like chewing on toys. I am 100% house trained (not a single accident since coming into rescue). I am such a good girl. I don't bark and I just appreciate every little thing my people do for me. I am soaking in all the love and attention. It's so nice to be cared for for once in my life! As far as I'm concerned, my life is just beginning.
Will you please give me a chance to be your special girl? I want so much to share my love with you for the rest of my life (I have so much of it!!!)! I promise to be a good and loyal girl. I know I don't look like 100% English Bulldog, but I have every bit as much love and affection to share with you as any dog out there. I promise you won't regret it.
