Here's what the humans have to say about me:
ADOPTION FEE: $600
Fostered in South Carolina
Age: 8 weeks
Weight: 1.5 lbs.
7/30/13 - It was a dark and stormy night in Columbia, South Carolina when I found myself left standing alone in the outdoor drop kennels at the shelter during a severe thunderstorm that called for tornado warnings and flooding. As I stood there, I started praying for a chance at life and thought that at 7 weeks old I am surely too young to die.
After seven terrifying days at the animal shelter, I found myself out of time… with the clock ticking and only a few hours left to live…desperate for a savior.
This is how my life was extended:
A lady from Yorkie Haven Rescue called the animal shelter to check on a fellow inmate, a yorkie. She was told that the yorkie had found another rescue. She was then informed of me… ME: The sweet little girl whose euthanasia appointment and time had already been placed on the books.
In stepped FOSTER MOMMY to SAVE THE DAY!
I was picked up by Foster Mommy, wrapped in a soft blanket, held, cuddled and kissed… Oh, if you only knew the relief I felt once I was in loving arms… Foster Mommy took me straight to the dogtor who gave me a physical, one shot, some antibiotics and put me on a nice puppy diet! The doctor told me my skull hasn’t completely closed yet, but that is common since I am a puppy. I just have to be extra careful for now until I grow a little bit more. Everything checked out just fine… and I was told I weigh a whopping 1.5 lbs. (much smaller than my fur-sisters who are 4 and 5 lb. yorkies!) It can be assumed that I will remain a small pup even when I grow up. After my rescue and appointment, Foster Mommy took me home and gave me a nice bath.
I am now resting and relaxing in the comfort of a foster home with my very own fleece blanket…
I still need to have more immunizations and be spayed before I can be adopted, but please feel free to apply to adopt me as soon as possible... so that once I am released by the dogtor, I can come HOME!
Sending you sweet baby kisses…
Love,
Stormy
