Chubbs is an affectionate and kind dog, with a playful side befitting a dog with a hilarious name. His beautiful soft coat and ears make him wonderful to pet or snuggle with, and Chubbs is always eager to have his belly rubbed or to be scratched behind the ears. Mainly Chubbs likes to be a part of whatever his people are up to, from scrambling around on his short little legs during play time to lounging in the backyard or in front of the tv. Chubbs is approximately 2 years old and weighs just under 40 lbs.

It's clear that Chubbs has been part of a household before - he is the best behaved foster dog we have had and he settled in right away, exhibiting little in the way of shyness or hesitancy, and he appears to have had some obedience training as he is already familiar with a number of commands. From day one Chubbs has walked beautifully on a leash. He will trot along right beside you at a comfortable pace and only pull off to the side to do his business. He seems to understand the purpose of a walk and is very quick to do his #1 and #2 within the first few minutes of going out.
We have also noticed that he understands sit, come, knows his name, and off. We have a no dogs on the furniture rule in our house and he was quick to learn this rule - while also being quick to come and sit right up with you and lick your face if you sit on the floor with him for a pet.
Chubbs does not seem to like his crate, and we've found that it isn't necessary at all. We've given him a nice blanket to sleep on and when we told him this was his place he lay right down and went to sleep for an 8 hour night without making a noise or leaving his spot. We have been extremely impressed with his house behaviour - he only barks when he hears someone approaching the house or sees another animal out of our back window. He is quiet in the house, knows how to relax and be "low maintenance" and he doesn't beg for food or misbehave. He has shown us that he is fully house broken and is quite capable of holding it for a full work day while we are out. He has gotten a lot of attention for his looks while we've been out and about as "the big dog with no legs".
Chubbs is a very well behaved boy. He would fit into a family seamlessly, especially if he was the only dog in the family to soak up all of the attention. Compared to other foster dogs we've had, he's highly polished already and behaves beautifully. He does not have an issue with being left for a work day, and does not require an extreme amount of exercise to tire him out. He would be wonderful for any type of family who would give him the love and attention he deserves.
