Maya is a former puppymill dog, who has been in a loving home for over 5 years. She was born in 2005, and weighs about 18 pounds. Maya has been through 3 levels of obedience training with her adoptive family, and knows more commands that we can list here. She is extremely intelligent and highly motivated to please her person (especially if you have treats!). Maya's Mom thinks she would be very good at agility or other canine sports activities - something to challenge her mind and body. She isn't crazy about very young children, though she will tolerate them in small doses. Maya is best with larger dogs, though she has been around small dogs; cats are not a problem, as long as they don't care about her talking back if they hiss at her. She is completely housebroken, but won't tell you she needs to go out; if kept to a schedule, Maya will not have accidents. She she doesn't care to be crated. Here is a
link to Maya's photo album. Please consider Maya as your next companion - she has so much love to give!
Note: This is a Guardian Assistance Placement (GAP) Program dog, meaning he/she has been fortunate enough to remain in his/her current home while looking for a new home. Veterinary records have been verified, but we must rely on input from the owner for information on behavior and temperament.
