Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, my name is Duchess! I am 8 years old pure bred Golden Retriever and have the most gorgeous red coat of fur. Foster mom loves my coat because I don’t shed nearly as much as her other goldens. Don’t let my age fool you though…I have the energy of a two year old! Foster Mom can’t believe how playful and energetic I am! I like to keep her on her toes so I follow her around the house at all times. There is never a moment I am away from her (unless she leaves to go to work). I am housetrained and behave myself when she is away. My toys help me behave…Nylabones are my favorite!
I am not one to share food with my foster siblings so I need to be fed seperate from other dogs. And I probably need to be in a home with older children - preferably 12 or older. I am the sweetest girl you will ever meet, full of sass and spunk. And I just love attention from mom…a pet on the head makes me the happiest I’ve ever been. Mom even lets me sleep in the bed with her at night…she is the best! Car rides are also my favorite! I don’t know what I like more…pets on the head or car rides. I love sticking my head out the window with the wind on my face…it’s the best feeling in the world! I have the best personality of any dog she has ever fostered (and she has fostered over 25 dogs!) I may be a stinker at times, but I promise to try my best if someone will just give me a chance.
If interested adopting in Dutchess, please visit our website at .http://www.adoptagoldenknoxville.org/new_england.html. If all that looks good, please move forward and fill out an application on our Adopt A Golden page.
NOTE: Adopt A Golden Knoxville rescue doesn't have an actual shelter building in your area. These dogs are fostered in private homes in East Tennessee. Therefore, it is not possible to meet the dogs and pups prior to their adoption. They are brought up north on a USDA transport
